Dorianna made her way down the polished stone hall, the rhythmic click of her boots echoing in the quiet morning.
Her destination was the Beta's official quarters.
Ralph would most definitely be in his office now.
She was going to receive her punishment, whatever it is. She was angry with Ralph for not visiting her while she was in prison but she could not deny the fact that she still wanted to see him, wanted to touch him, wanted to hear his reason.
She stood before the heavy wooden door of his office. Taking a deep breath, she smoothed the front of her shirt and ran a hand through her hair.
She knocked briskly and without waiting for a response, she opened the door and strode in.
Her confidence faltered instantly.
