“Axel, no. We… can’t do this!” I jolted back when he pulled up my skirt.

As if to retaliate, Axel grabbed my wrist and yanked my body to his. “We can do whatever I say we can do, María José.”

“I’m your brother’s reject. Do you even hear yourself right now? He didn’t want me, Axel. What does that make me to you?”

“I don’t care about Álvaro’s foolishness. It's his loss for losing a woman like you.”

“Okay, I must confess. I'm not worried about him either. It's Rosa… you're getting engaged to my sister in a month!”

 “Let me remind you, María José—I don’t give a fuck about that either.”

No matter how hard I jerked, Axel wasn’t letting me go. And part of me so, so foolishly didn’t want him to.

Those filthy rats had actually thought they could corner me. ME?! Big Daddy Luis?! I was far beyond what their puny minds could comprehend. With the exception of my baby, Maria José. Oh, soon she would understand that I am the only person for her.

I watched with amusement as that bloody witch tried attacking me with the power of a thousand ancients, as she had called it. Although, I must admit, I did feel a strange potency coming from that orb in her hands, so it must indeed have been something quite terrifying. However, I could disappear and reappear whenever I wanted to. So, what was the use? 


I even purposely acted like I was worried, and watched hope form in that fool's eyes. Oh, how much I hated Axel. I hated him for getting cozy with my thing, I hated him for acting like his love for Maria José was stronger than what I felt for her.
