Chapter 66 - Chapter 66 - Arriving in Peru

"Merlin Beard, we finally arrived."

Stepping out of an airport in Peru, John basically shouted this sentence. Felix didn't blame him nor did Angel as after many long flights and routing, the three of them finally arrived. They still had quite a bit of traveling to do, but this bulk is finally over.

"Haha, let's get to the hotel and rest before we begin the next part of our journey." Felix smiled.

"Still, do they speak English here?" Angel asked, a bit concerned.

The thought of trying to communicate due to a language barrier troubled her. However, both Felix and John just looked at her strangely.

"The main language here is Spanish. However, I have enhanced your earrings so they will translate to English for you. Also when you speak it will sound like Spanish for the other party if need be." Felix explained.

Due to deciding to travel the world in search of random treasure, Felix naturally thought of this problem. So he created such pieces of magic to ease such situations. While it won't be the most perfect solution it's the best option.

"Felix talked about this on the plane." John nodded.

"I forgot ok." Angel just rolled her eyes.

--

After finding a hotel and checking in for two rooms. In which John and Felix shared a room giving Angel the second one for herself. John gave Felix an unimpressed look to which he just shrugged.

Felix isn't completely ignorant of Angel's feelings for him nor is he against it. He just isn't really in a rush like most of the graduates from Hogwarts. Many students upon graduating from Hogwarts tend to get married and settle down after finding a decent paying job. Then after working half a century or more retire and sit in a rocking chair for the remainder of their life.

While there are some that break this mold, not many from Felix knowledge. That is why adventure books that seem fictional could be passed off as real. Now, that isn't to say that making a relationship means the end of treasure hunting. Since he is sure Angel would still love to join him on his adventures, but due to all his life extending magic. He just is not really in a rush on this aspect and rather just adventure with his two friends.

"So where are we heading tomorrow?" John asked.

"To a stone temple in the jungle. The journey will take a few days as there is no real way to get there quickly. Well besides flying or other ways of magic transportation." Felix answered.

"Why aren't we using broomsticks or the like?" John asked.

"Where is your sense of adventure? In the future when you tell this adventure would you rather say I hiked through the jungle with my good friends. During this hike I saw many rare or potentially dangerous encounters or I rode on a broomstick and safely made it to the temple without much issue." Felix spread his arms.

"Broomstick." John said after a moment.

Felix just rolled his eyes at this.

"Sorry, there is a broomstick or magic flying ban in Peru for the time being. So we are hiking." Felix smiled.

"Really?" John narrowed his eyes.

"From what I read when tracking the treasure. I am not sure if the ban is still in place or not, but why risk it or go through the trouble of visiting the Ministry to find out." Felix shifted his eyes away from John.

"I think it's because you don't want to register at the Ministry." John pointed out.

"Magic is supposed to be free, not restricted and burden down by rules like wand checking and other hassle nonsense the ministry wants to impose." Felix looked away.

When a witch or wizard travels to another country they often have to do a wand check at that country's Ministry of Magic. While some are more lax about this law, it is recommended otherwise if you accidentally get caught up in a big event. Even if you are a bystander or hero of the moment, you might get slapped with the fine if you met a petty official.

"Well, it's not like we can't afford the fine if we get hit with it." John just waved his hand unconcerned.

Felix nodded before adding a fun fact.

"There is also a law that no one with the name Grindelwald is allowed in the country. Apparently they got beat so badly by Gellert and his saints they just outright banned the entire name. They don't care if you are related or just share the name." Felix smiled.

"..."

--

The next morning after resting and packing their things, Felix set off with John and Angel towards the jungle. Luckily, Felix made a compass that would lead him towards the temple or a temple of similar age. Otherwise, they might never arrive since the two allowed him to lead the way.

"First relic here we come."
