Chapter 49 - Chapter 49 - Gilderoy Lockhart’s Quidditch Pitch

The days since school began came and went. From going to class, meeting with Dumbledore, building the framework of the Green Lantern Ring with John and finally practicing dueling with Angel. His days were full, but during which he also managed to squeeze in time to try and gather some materials for William's gift he wanted.

The Mirror of Galadriel from the Lord of the Rings in truth is still quite difficult. It has been a bit slow in progress since the magic involved has barely been touched upon. Well, touched upon what he could find to the public and what's in the library.

To break his routine, a day he didn't really like has arrived, but did offer a bit of time to rest. So after a slightly tiring walk up to the Quidditch Pitch, Felix alongside his two friends found a seat. It wasn't until he sat down did a surge of annoyance come.

"Today's game is postponed for a few days. Please head back to the castle or go about your business."

Upon hearing Professor McGonagall voice echoing throughout the quidditch pitch. Felix who just sat down was annoyed. He walked all the way here, now has to turn around and walk back. All because a narcissistic Ravenclaw wrote his name in twenty foot letters into the quidditch pitch.

"Lockhart!"

Felix gritted his teeth as his annoyance with this Ravenclaw surged.

"Felix, I didn't think you held much interest in quidditch." John was surprised at this reaction.

"I got stuck near him in Charms yesterday and had to listen to the entire class about his natural wavy hair. I now know about the various shampoo, conditioner and maintenance routine he goes through then I care to know."

Angel patted his shoulder with sympathy as did John. Over their time in Hogwarts, they all alongside a few other students fell victim to listening to Gileroy Lockhart boasting of what he dreams to accomplish or his skills.

Many times if a professor wasn't in the room or nearby, many would love to start brawling with him. No spells, just straight up beating him with their fists.

"So why didn't the professors just fix the ground? Surely they didn't need to cancel the game just because of this." John asked.

"Despite his idiotic nature, he jinxes the letters so easy fixes aren't possible. So now they probably want to punish him by changing it back." Felix said as he pointed at Professor Flitwick dragging the boy in question.

There wasn't even a hint of looking troubled or wrong, instead Gilderoy just waved and smiled at everyone who was looking. Which made Professor Flitwick look troubled since clearly the boy didn't look regretful about his actions.

Returning to the castle and wishing he brought his hoverboard or better yet a pillow. Felix then thought about a floating pillow which actually sounded interesting. Remembering a certain floating pillow that was actually a spear.

Chastiefol.

Deciding to put it onto the list to get working on, he was just worried about how to find the materials. Since he wasn't sure he could make or get the materials in a reasonable amount of time. Since one of the materials that made it in the series is the Sacred Tree from the Fairy Realm.

While it is possible to grow his own, it could take one hundred years or thousands of years to grow. Which was far too long since it was more to make on a whim then to actually use the weapon.

Realizing that he is making various and strong weapons. Felix felt that he should probably make a box to store all his trinkets and notes from now on. The last thing he needs is these weapons leaking out and causing havoc.

"Now that we are actually back, why didn't you call Athena to carry you back." John asked.

Felix did have the idea of asking his phoenix, but she is currently out picking up materials for him. So it wasn't possible for her to do so.

"She is busy with something else." Felix replied.

"Since the game is canceled and there is no class. What do you guys want to do?" Angel asked.

"Magic project?" John suggested.

"Magic project." Felix nodded in agreement.

"You know it's a day to relax." Angel said.

"I like making things I'm interested in, it's my way to relax." Felix replied, smiling at her. "Why don't you come join us? It will be fun."

"Alright," Angel looked away with slightly red cheeks.

"Are you feeling ok?" Felix asked, placing a hand on her forehead. "You aren't running a temp nor do you appear sick."

Slap!

Angel slapped his hand away, which just confused Felix more as the light tint darken. So with slight concern he looked over to John who just laughed.

--

After messing around with Angel, they made their way to the library. There wasn't much left to be done on the basic framework for the construct. Both Felix and John have basically created the outline and framework of the willpower. They just needed to finish the last touches and then begin working on the rest of the features.

Upon seeing the stack of papers, Angel looked at it full of surprise. Clearly she was surprised at how many notes they have on this project of theirs and from what they told her. This wasn't everything and only the beginning.

"You two have surely been hard at work." Angel said. "I don't think our previous projects had this much work done to make them."

"Of course, compared to this, our previous projects are toys one could say." John said. "What we are trying to create is one of the universe's strongest weapons. A green lantern ring."

"Quite bold to say that." Angel said dryly.

"Well, it might be a stretch to say strongest, but it is pretty strong. The amount of destruction it could cause if used by the wrong person. Well, it won't be pretty. Granted it probably won't be a green lantern ring by then." Felix leaned back in his chair.

"If that is the case, then do you think it wise to leave your notes open like this?" Angel lost her smile.

"It's fine," Felix shrugged. "If someone wants to copy this, they will just learn construction magic."

Angel seemed to ease a bit at that. "So what am I helping with?"

--

Inside Albus Dumbledore Office, the aging headmaster looked at Professor McGonagall and Flitwick. Both of them came to him clearly concerned about something.

"So, John Bell and Felix Grindelwald are doing a magic project that is concerning you two?" Dumbledore asked. "What is so different from the ones they did over the last couple years."

"Because they are building something they are calling one of the universe's strongest weapons. They have also done quite a bit of research into construct magic." Flitwick answered.

"Wow, it's been some time since a student has been interested in that, " Dumbledore said unconcerned, but the professor didn't seem at ease. "Alright, I will look into it."

After seeing them out, Dumbledore leaned back and smiled. He never did say when he would.
