Lillian let out a deep sigh as she walked beside Emilio, finding herself feeling down and also confused over Marionette's decision to leave her behind.
It was one thing to interact with people like them, but it was also another thing to actually walk with them.
Scratching the side of her head, Lillian thought:
'What was Marionette thinking...?'
There was most likely a reason why her girlfriend would walk off with those nobles, other than just walking past them. Unfortunately, Lillian had yet to decipher the reason why.
"There's no reason to be upset, Miss Lillian!" Emilio said, walking beside Lillian and finding the air around them to be awkward, "If you are worried about Miss Roselle, then I am certain she can take care of herself if needed. That way, you can't be punished for not being able to protect her."
Lillian slowly twisted her head in Emilio's direction, her eyebrow raised as she scrutinised his face. Was he trying to cheer her up?
