Chapter 78 - Chapter 78: The Battle Against Hades

[3rd POV]

Walking through the halls of the castle of Hades, Morgan could sense where the God was. He was...strong, very strong. His very presence exuded death and darkness, a curse amongst the lands. A dark God that she knew would be a genuine threat to her being.

Something that she couldn't help but grin slightly at, realizing that she might have a genuine fight for once, something she hadn't had in a long long time. Her draconic instincts reveling at the thought of a proper battle.

She wondered how long the battle would actually last though, as she had several powers that countered his abilities. Not only that, but she was going to go out of her way to sneak attack him, as she could not afford to let the battle last too long.

If she did, then the other Gods of the Greek Pantheon would come down to the Underworld, and would almost certainly come after her. Especially considering Hades was the strongest member of their pantheon, and they could not handle the loss of him.

So instead she needed to end the battle within three minutes, then she could get out of there and return home. What happened afterwards she didn't know, but from what she had researched about, the aftereffects wouldn't be nearly as big as you'd expect.

Most of the problems would be for the Greek themselves to handle, as the souls that would normally go to the Greek, would actually flood to the other pantheons, most likely the Hindu and Japanese ones more than any of the others.

This would therefore strengthen the Death Gods of those pantheons, increasing the power of those pantheons as a whole. Which would probably cause a fuss, but there wasn't much the Greek would be able to do once Hades is dead.

Morgan didn't really feel bad about that, so instead she was focused on getting to the entity to kill him.

She knew that there weren't any other Gods in the castle too, which she had found out after looking into it. She found that Hades didn't actually have a wife or anything in this world, which was certainly a curious change, but not entirely a shocking one.

Walking through the halls, Morgan had found the room that the God was standing in, likely doing something regarding his godly duties, or even sleeping, as Gods do sleep. She had no idea which one, but in her hands the Excalibur glimmered into form, blocked and hidden with various wards specially made so that Hades wouldn't sense her bringing it out.

Stepping through the door and phasing into the room, Morgan's guess was correct. As the man was sat at his desk, seemingly writing some sort of letter.

Seeing him sat there, she walked up behind him silently, his senses not able to detect her, as she gripped her blade and breathed in deeply, her eyes glowing as she pierces the sword directly through his heart, and without hesitation, pulled it to the side as the God let out a screech of pain, his power reacting as she was blown back as he growled in anger.

His skeleton form turned to her, wounded as he clutched his chest.

"You! Who are you!" Hades roared in anger, as the castle groaned and shook underneath his power as it began to flare around him. The castle only withstood his power thanks to the durability of the castle itself.

Hearing the question, Morgan's own power boomed around her, shaking the castle just as much as Hades was, if not more. The God in front of her looked at her wide eyed, realizing that he was standing in front of someone who was just as strong as him, not only that...but she was uninjured.

"I'm the one who is about to kill you" Morgan said coldly, as her form was still underneath a cloaking spell, which covered her form and made her look like nothing more than a shadow to the God. As if he knew who she was, it could cause some issues for her.

"I don't know who you are, but you will not get away with this!" Hades roared as his staff appeared in his hands, the area around them being completely obliterated as Morgan blurred and her blade clashed against his staff, shaking the dimension around them.

Another strike echoed from her as the god was thrown through several walls of the castle, as they both fought at speeds that surpassed the speed of sound, no normal being able to see as they fought. The Grim Reapers that attempted to interfere were obliterated from existence as they were caught in the crossfire, as Hades roared in anger, his power growing as the dimension warped and shook even more.

Seeing the glowing form around him, Morgan grinned her eyes glowing as her own true form was revealed to the dimension. Her large horns and draconic and demonic features, her godlike power shaking the dimension as the surroundings were being disintegrated underneath her might.

"You-You are strong! But not strong enough!" Hades yelled, as their energies clashed, destroying the rest of the castle around them as they began to warp and teleport around the Realm of Dead, the realm as a whole unraveling underneath her power.

The effects of their battle wasn't just felt in the realm of the dead at this point, but throughout the entire Underworld. Those in the devil side of the Underworld were fearful, besides those in the know, primarily the Four Satans and her peerage.

They were instead nervous about what the outcome would be. As if Morgan won that battle and slays the God Hades, it would change...everything.

Back in the Realm of the Dead, Morgan knew she had to end this fight soon. If she did not end it, then this would bring ruin to the rest of the Underworld as they fought throughout the dimension, their battle extending further and further.

And once the Greek gods appeared, then she would have a hard time battling with them before getting the change to escape.

So instead, she was focusing all her power in killing the God in front of her within the next minute, otherwise killing him would be next to impossible. And with him alive, things would get truly dangerous for the rest of the Devil society.

"This is foolishness you worm! You cannot kill a God!" Hades screamed, his power slamming against where she stood only a moment ago. Morgan in response only growled, gripping Excalibur in her hands as she gazed down at it, feeling...something in it activating.

It was as if the blade was reacting to the words of the arrogant God, as if...it wanted to prove him wrong. And as she gripped it, Morgan grinned widely in understanding.

"What are you grinning at, you upstart mortal!?" Hades yelled, enraged that he was being ignored by a mortal in the middle of battle.

In response Morgan just looked at the God with a smirk on her face, as she gripped the blade that began to glow more and more as she began to pump power into it.

"You said that I couldn't kill you, right? Well...I think I'm about to prove you wrong, Hades" Morgan responded, as she began to lift the blade as if she was preparing to swing it downwards.

Hades in response began to prepare his own attack of immense power, as he felt the power she was gathering within the blade. The dark blade of power and might glowed brighter and brighter as the dimension began to crack around them, their God class power unraveling their surroundings.

Far off in the distance, Ophis perked up as she looked into the distance from her comfy bed where she was busy watching an amusing show about a man known as "Goku" while munching on some tasty cookies. She could feel the power of Morgan flaring, and she could feel the power of that little God too.

Sensing the two powers, Ophis couldn't stop the small smirk that formed on her face, as she had a thought on her mind '...Keep getting stronger, outsider. And soon...soon you can give become what I desire'

Unknowing to the thoughts of Ophis back in the main Underworld, Morgan was lifting Excalibur Morgan over her head, and as a beam of pure demonic energies shattered the skies of the dimension, and Hades's massive ball of dark power began to glow brilliantly, they both roared out their own lines, as their strikes began to slam against one another.

"DIE!" Hades roared, launching his ball of energies at Morgan, while Morgan only said one powerful line. A line that activated the ancient blade within her hands, as the beam of light shattered space around them, and that line was...

"EXCALIBUR!"
