The roots moved too fast. The swordsmen couldn't run faster than the attack, so the wall of wooden spears smashed into the front line of the swordsmen. Many of them were torn into pieces immediately.
About twenty of them were killed by the single attack. The remaining managed to escape. Arthur saw this and felt like it was pity.
He thought to himself, "I wish I could control every part of the forest."
If he could control every part of the forest he created with his seeds, he would be able to fight all 65 of them with just one spell. Unfortunately, his mind isn't powerful enough to do that.
If his mind were powerful enough, he would be able to transform the forest into many wood puppets to fight for him instead of creating one large wall of spears that can only move in one direction and can't actively resist the attack of the swords individually.
He can still create the wooden puppets now, but he won't be able to control all of them. So it will be a waste of energy to do so.
