Kelvin reached home, the first thing he noticed was an unfamiliar car parked outside. The sight of it made him smile immediately, he recognized the car. It was Lily's. Feeling a rush of excitement, he hurried towards the house, his steps quicker and lighter.
As he entered, the lady in charge of managing the house greeted him with a polite bow. She wore a neat uniform, her hands folded carefully in front of her.
"Good evening, sir. Miss Lily is around," she reported, stepping forward to take the bag from his hands.
"Where is she?" he asked, his voice filled with eagerness, almost boyish in his excitement to see her.
"In the kitchen, sir," she answered respectfully, keeping her head slightly lowered.
He frowned, confused. "Kitchen? What is she doing in the kitchen when there's a cook to handle that?" His voice showed a hint of annoyance. It worried him that she might be tiring herself unnecessarily.
