CHAPTER 50
"Owwww! I am in so much pain!" Grey shouted as his eyes slowly blinked open.
He found himself lying in his small house, wrapped tightly in a warm blanket that warded off the chill.
"Oh… I am back home," he muttered, glancing around the familiar living room as a wonderfully sweet aroma wafted into his nose from the nearby kitchen.
"Jesse! Go check if Grey is awake yet," Clara called out from the back of the house.
Upon hearing that name again, Grey clenched his teeth in a surge of sudden anger just as he saw the small girl heading his way.
"You are finally awake," Jesse said in her tiny, fragile voice.
Jesse was a little girl of only eight years old, possessing short black hair and deep, dark eyes that reflected her recent trauma.
"How are you feeling?" she asked softly.
She stepped closer and was about to touch Grey when he shot her a piercing, glaring look that made her shiver uncontrollably.
