Out in Zone Four, humans and even sentient mechas alike were extremely busy with the cleanup.
It had definitely been challenging to get one rebellious little system to follow. Still, after months of forced practice, one guardian mecha had learned how to deal with his—unfortunately or fortunately—permanent companion.
And so getting him to come hadn't been as difficult.
But what do you know?
Like host, like system. Because in one corner of the dungeon space, one supposedly working host was also on the verge of it.
And how badly did Luca want to come undone?
So bad that he was just about to move his own body.
The trembling was intense, and Luca's panting was making him feel like he was the one rampaging.
Then again, maybe he was. Because, in truth, Luca had become even more sensitive since he'd been trying to take in the compromised energy from Xavier.
And it was making him really greedy.
