Because somewhere far removed from all the commotion, two military personnel who were honestly sick and tired of maintaining their respective covers and going through the same old routine were just about to receive news that would change their priorities considerably.
THUD!
"Ugh!"
A muffled grunt escaped the man who'd just received another vicious kick to his abdomen, his body folding forward as far as the restraints binding him to the chair would allow.
"What's wrong? Not so tough now, are you?!"
The burly pirate standing in front of him sneered before grabbing a fistful of his hair and forcing his head up.
"Thought you could just waltz in here and do whatever you wanted, huh?! Don't you know everyone has to get tested before they're sent off? And yet you dare strut around like you're above all that?!"
BAM!
