"Hello? Who is this?" Helena's voice with hesitation clearly evident was heard through the speaker once the call was answered.
Merlin heard her voice and her words and laughed out loud. After a couple of seconds, he stopped and asked her, "Don't you already have my number on your phone?"
"Umm… what? I don't understand what you are talking about. Who are you?" She continued pretending and asked him.
Merlin once again laughed, "Sure sure. You don't know me. Anyway, I called you to thank you and your husband."
"Thank us? Why?" Helena asked in confusion.
"Didn't your husband call me to give me a heads up? That was very helpful. So, of course, I have to thank you both sincerely," Merlin said seriously.
He was sincere when he said he was thankful. If not for Vernon's call that day, he might have found Jim's conspiracy with the drugs but not about his plan to kill him using an accident.
