Vistal Nerve Disease (VND) is a progressive neurological disorder that targets the vistal nerve cluster—a rare and poorly understood network of sensory and regulatory nerves located near the base of the brainstem.
This disease causes erratic signal transmissions, leading to a wide range of debilitating symptoms that progressively worsen over time.
It was also considered one of the universe's infamous "unsolvable" diseases.
Of course, that didn't mean it was entirely without hope.
In TSO's timeline, the cure for VND would be discovered somewhere around chapters 20 to 24. But that, timeline-wise, was still a decade into the future.
Judging by Eva's mother's current state, there was simply no way she would survive long enough to reach that point.
