Chapter Forty : The One Beside Him
The day before the Fang clan was set to depart for the Azure Dragon Secret Realm, Fang Luo finally returned.
At his side was a large, pudgy creature covered in yellow-gray fur. From afar it looked like an oversized dog, but up close it resembled a lion—with horns on its head.
Fang Ting examined it carefully.
"So this is the beast that hatched from that ancient egg?"
Fang Luo rubbed the beast's head and replied,
"That's right. Master said it's called Suan Ni. In ancient times, its kind formed a powerful race. By this era, they're nearly extinct. I named him Little Grey."
Normally, he kept it in a spirit beast pouch in crowded areas, but this time he let it out so Fang Ting could see it.
"Suanni?"
Fang Ting was stunned. Wasn't that the mythical creature from Earth's legends?
How could it exist in the ancient history of this world?
Was there some connection between the two worlds?
