Chapter 249 - Silver Ocean(15)

"This will be fun..." said the bodiless voice.

"What will be fun?" said Avere, still stuck atop the endlessly tall red cross, thin as it now began to slightly swag from side to side, slowly causing the endless forest of ice to no more be endless and simply give way for him to slowly descend, or so he hoped at least.

The endless ice began to slowly fracture as the now mindless body atop began to contract it's muscles, long hair, reaching dozens of feet beneath his feet, dishevelled and thick with ice, in danger of breaking off at the current temperature, began to show itself, the starved appearance and bones of the man stuck atop now truly visible under clothes that turned into mere rags centuries ago.

Out of an old man, a fallen teenager and a unknowing boy a new being was born.

Avere had been born, the one who was soon to be rich in wisdom, though right now, he knew not even who he was, neither who Cades, neither who Rondel, neither who Arges, was, he simply was himself, without any impurities, something that was however soon to be changed, that was known even to himself, at least Cades was certain of that.

Because, right now, Cades was the one who would get to mould this person, he would have to make sure he didn't mess up, didn't create a monster, though this place might as well be able to do that to them anyways, he had to make sure that the person in front of him remained a person and didn't just become a senseless lunatic.

They, Avere, were like a child, unknowing, but knowing of everything that was going on, they knew how to talk, they knew how to breathe, they knew how to understand, they knew how to remember what the others had gone through, but just because he knew that didn't mean those things had changed him yet, he simply was untouched, he was calm, he was without pain, because pain was not yet there, arrived inside that head of his, he was perfect for this place, at least right now, before he was doomed to get all his sensations, just like the rest of all people.

Nevertheless he shouldn't tell him all that, Cades thought, he should let him be alone for a bit more, let him be lead there, it would only be a bit until it all hit him anyways, not as a storm as before, but simply as a punch in the stomach, until he fell from the top and reached the bottom, not that his body would be destroyed either way, that was just not something he was intent on happening, and neither was it something that the current body would allow to happen.

After all, to Cades fascination, the body of Avere had given way, it was no flesh, no metal, it was no gas, no element, it was the very silver he knew so well, it was a silver that every subconscious and conscious being lived off of, it was Cadon, the material also known as the material of the soul, and also one of the name-givers of the original Cades.

He wasn't sure about the properties that this would give him, but the current theory Cades had come up with was that the sheer mass of experiences, pain, and partially even the apathy had turned the very body, at least in the current realm of experiences that they were stuck in, into the material that these experiences were made out of, Cadon.

But if they were made out of Cadon, Cades began to slowly realize, then did that mean everything in here was made out of souls, out of the very fundamental parts that made up everything, from instincts, to intent, to understanding, to thoughts, because if that was the case...

He would be able to influence this place a lot more than he had been able to influence the domain of motion, if that could even be counted as her true realm, after all, he was a being that was born to manage experiences, to understand the not understandable that only the body should ever know, to lead the body while the head thought...

Oh, had he had a mouth to smile with he would have done so, slowly realizing just how much he could involve himself in this place, while the domain of motion had willingly shunned him out and neutralized many of his powers and abilities while he had been inside.

Though he did understand why.

The great pillar of motion wanted Leyk to progress, not him, the only reason he had even even able to involve himself was to help Leyk understand the intent of aura and the be-weaving of both will and mana, something he himself had already understood for a while, courtesy of being made out of intent to a certain degree and controlling mana practically for a living.

He smirked, this time with a real body, as the mannequin-like form of Avere held his head higher than before, trying to see what had just happened with childlike wonder in his eyes that now glinted with just the tiniest bit of madness, of experience, and of apathy, all coming from the three people stuck inside and slowly becoming Avere, slowly becoming himself and not himself.

God, this was truly something he would never be able to explain, though he should probably try eventually, this was a part of the future after all, how else would one become more powerful without understanding themselves.

He thought as he stood on nothing but thin air, the world listening to his words and the storm slowly stopping, the body, a true body, of the subconsciousness standing atop the wind, atop the very cold itself, a concept, but after all, the difference in temperature between the lwo and the high was also a wall in a certain way of thinking, so he was really just standing atop a wall.

Though, right now, it was only possible because this world was made of experiences, just like himself, and right now, he had simply made himself visible, seen through the eyes of Avere, in quite the peculiar form he might add.

Now, though, Avere had truly become one, he had arrived, and this would be the first thing to greet him, he realized as he was quickly transforming himself to have some.. more interesting clothes...
