Chapter 246 - Silver Ocean(12)

John! John was back!

The storm still eternally raging on he moved his head from the eternal looking down at his feet that had never even moved during his eternal life, and looked right towards the whipping storm that was soon to start scratching out his eyes, something that was of no matter as they would soon regenerate.

But despite the pain, he laughed, because there was something new, and because there was inconsistency, and in that he found fun, he found something to do in feeling pain, in being in suffrage, in not being in peace, that was what he had fallen to, that was his current self, that was how low he had gone, not that he was happy about it...

Or sad, or angry, or annoyed, it was just as it was, and it had always been as it was, that was just the way things were...

Did he use the forms of was and were too much?

Yes, oh yes, he definitely did....

He should think about that, there was a new... what was the word?

New theme, new opinion, new something, new idea... yes, that sounded right, there was a new idea to think about, and oh would thinking about his own verbal usage inside of his very mind be fun, more fun, more inconsistency, than even the pain he was feeling, though he already knew that the eternal boredom would never truly vanish, that was already too far gone, that tiny smidge of hope, hidden beneath the eternal cold at his very feet, the cross, still red as blood and made of an unknown rusty metal that made him feel even greater pain from time to time, still standing, hundreds of feet high, and ridiculously thin in comparison to the height.

But right now there was something even better to do, he could listen, he could follow words, he could do something that broke the chain of eternity, whatever that felt like, eternity was, after all, all he had ever known, and most likely, all he would ever know, till the end of his days.

Just then, as if the voice had already known he was still ringing with his own instantly, however depleted it's juice might now be, it began to talk anew, intent on bringing news, however good, however bad, simply news, that was what he was happy about.

"First of all, the other you succeeded, he met the great pillar of motion and got some power-ups before starting his slumber, now just waiting for you, Arges" the voice said, sounding almost triumphantly... ooh.. a new sensation all over, annoyance this time... how refreshing...

The voice had said so much about this other him already, about refuting their wishes, about being annoying, something about a little pink girl in a dress which he had found very funny, a new sensation again, but it had never really annoyed him before, perhaps it had happened because the funny stories would be over, that he did not like...

But the annoyance, the new thing, that Arges did like, he liked when something happened, it was the only time something was that was not before, it was his life, and life was when things happened... or at least Cades used to think so... but he was Cades, wasn't he?

"Yes, you are Cades, and you are Arges, you are just a bit muddled up right now, don't worry, one day soon that will be normal again..." the voice said calmly, as if explaining something to a child.

Right, there was something like that, he had already told him...

"The next part will be painful, but still, the waiting is over..." he said, still calm, now with a new voice... an emotion he had never heard before, but one he knew too well, one he was already feeling right now...

Was this happiness?

No, his heart was racing, he was looking forward to something, but he didn't know what it was he was looking forward to... what was he feeling?

According to Cades ideas, or rather, his own memories, he was probably feeling... excitement?

Interesting... he liked it, it made him feel as if something was going to happen, he wanted this to stay, to be eternal now, perhaps it would, the man had said that the waiting is over, maybe he had meant that excitement would now be eternal, that this anticipation for what was to come was the reward for seeing only the past and minding only his own thoughts, descending into madness and returning, and so, so, much more...

Or maybe the man had just been lying all the time and it did not matter either way, in which case, at least he had this feeling to cling on to, this last thing he had of nothing, this feeling of being to mind when he was once more waiting for all of eternity.

"Say, which one would you think is funnier..."the voice, said, stifling a kind of laughter, a new sensation all over, but one he was very welcoming of, though he was still happy that the anticipation was still present, something he would have hated to lose so soon.

"A grown man changed into the form of a little boy toddler wearing a diaper and a cute shirt filled with, well, you get the gist, chocolate" he did, at least according to Cades memories, " or a little, very cute girl, with pink hair, fluffy cat ears, and a tutu, or at least some kind of really girlish dress?" he ended, sounding slightly sinister, something Arges had already known from the incorporeal voice, though he found the question weirdly unsettling.

But he did somehow feel that the second would be worse, not because it would be more embarrassing, but more so, because the voice would surely not be able to make the toddler under the circumstances it had told him about, and even if it did, in that realm it had told him about, that realm Arges remembered from the memories of Cades, he would not be willing to let anyone maintain the shape of a toddler for too long, that was for sure, or at least, he was sure it was sure... maybe...hopefully for whoever was the poor guy....
