Blackgold Sovereign stood frozen, utterly dumbfounded.
He simply could not believe what he was hearing.
Was Apollo seriously trying to blame him for that disaster just now?
Was this guy shameless to such an extreme degree?
It had clearly been Apollo who hadn't paid attention to the earlier conversation between the mentor and the young man—yet now he was turning it around, as if it had been Blackgold's fault?
What was this? A bluff? Did Apollo assume he hadn't listened either?
"Apollo," Blackgold Sovereign said coldly, "I heard that entire conversation loud and clear. From beginning to end!"
"I'm warning you—don't even think about pinning your mess on me!"
Apollo's expression froze for a second.
Then, noticing Blackgold raising his wand and brandishing it in a not-so-subtle threat, Apollo quickly shifted tone.
Ahem.
"Blackgold," he declared solemnly, "as your superior and the official steward of Fortress servants, I command you to put that weapon away immediately!"
