After school in the afternoon, Ichin and Utaha arrived at the company.
Before they even had time to put their things down, Ichin was immediately met with a question from Aoba.
"Ichin-kun, why didn't you bring Peppa with you today?"
"Hm?"
Ichin glanced at Aoba, put down his backpack, then called over Rin Toyama and asked her to take a few people to the storage room to bring out the specialty gifts he had left there yesterday. Only then did he turn back to Aoba and say, "That's what I wanted to ask you. I've only been away for a week, and Peppa's already gained a whole round of weight under your care. If you all keep feeding him like this, he's going to turn into Mozuku No. 2. In that situation, do you really think I'd dare bring her again?"
"Ah, uh… hahaha~"
Aoba scratched her head awkwardly, unsure how to respond.
All the girls in the company loved small animals. Take Hazuki's Mozuku for example—he's slow and laid-back, not afraid of people, and actually loves to come rub against them. Whenever the girls had free time, they loved picking him up for a cuddle.
Peppa from Ichin's place needed no further explanation. He was still young and in his growth phase, not as chubby as Mozuku, and cuter to boot. Naturally, everyone adored him.
And since he was such a glutton, the girls didn't hold back. Whenever he wanted food, they'd feed him without hesitation—some even went as far as to buy special cat snacks just to bring in for him.
If this treatment kept up for a few more days, she might actually surpass Mozuku.
After Ichin's words, not only Aoba but also the other girls around wore awkward expressions. Clearly, they were all responsible for Peppa's weight gain.
Seeing everyone like this, Ichin chuckled and said, "I know you all love the little one, but you really shouldn't overfeed him. Other than his regular three meals a day, just a few snacks is enough. Even if he's an orange tabby, he can't get too fat—it's really not good for his health. Not every cat can be like Mozuku."
Only after receiving everyone's unanimous promise did Ichin agree to let Yagami Kō and the others bring Peppa to work again tomorrow.
At that moment, Rin Toyama and her group arrived carrying a pile of goodies.
"Here, I brought you all some snacks and lotus root powder—one for each of you. Rin, I'll leave the distribution to you."
Everyone was overjoyed by the gifts Ichin had prepared. Their boss was truly generous—every time he went back to his hometown, he'd bring something for the team.
Even if it was just food, and not very expensive, it showed that their boss genuinely thought about employee welfare.
As employees, they didn't ask for much: fair pay, no constant forced overtime, and not getting yelled at for no reason. That was enough.
And Ichin, in their eyes, was already the kind of boss most working people dream of having.
After everything was handed out, Ichin made his way to Hazuki's office.
"Hazuki, the second PV should be finished by now, right?"
"Yeah, it was just completed around noon. A few 30-second intro videos for the main characters are also done. I've reviewed everything—no issues. The files are in the company's database. You can check them out later. But first, let's go over the other tasks."
"Kō really is efficient. I'll check them out in a bit."
The two briefly synced up on the past week's work and confirmed plans for the upcoming livestream. Then, Ichin left Hazuki to her tasks and returned to his own office.
Utaha was already waiting there, having brewed some coffee.
Sitting down in his boss chair and calling Utaha over, Ichin opened the newly completed second promotional video.
"This PV was edited by Kō. Let's see how she did. After this, there are also four 30-second intro videos for the main characters."
"Kō made it?" Utaha smiled in surprise. "Then we definitely have to watch it carefully."
The first promotional video had revealed the game and briefly introduced its genre. This second one, however, focused mainly on the male protagonist.
His name was Ren Amamiya, though players could freely customize his name in-game, or stick with the default.
This PV showcased the protagonist's dual life as a student and a phantom thief. It also gave glimpses of Morgana, Ann Takamaki, and Ryuji Sakamoto.
Although it was a new PV, the footage shown was still from the early part of the game. Nothing in it revealed the true background of the story or the enemies players would eventually face.
Of course, Yagami Kō hadn't forgotten Ichin's requests. She included a few frames of Yusuke Kitagawa and ended the PV with a reveal of the Velvet Room, leaving players full of curiosity and speculation about the game's content.
After watching the short two-minute PV, Ichin looked toward Utaha.
"What do you think?"
Utaha smiled and nodded. "It's really good. As expected of Kō—editing with a clear understanding of the game's content makes a huge difference. She knows exactly how to grab the viewer's interest. If I were just an ordinary player, watching this PV would definitely boost my interest in the game."
"I feel the same."
Ichin was very pleased with the PV's final quality. It seemed he could safely entrust the next few promotional videos to Yagami Kō as well.
Now that the art team had more members, Kō didn't need to spend all day buried in illustrations. Apart from key artworks, she could now take part in other areas too—like making game PVs, which was a great experience for her.
After the PV, they watched the four 30-second character introductions for the protagonist, Morgana, Ryuji Sakamoto, and Ann Takamaki. Each one was well-made and perfectly met Ichin's expectations.
Rubbing his chin, Ichin said, "We'll release PV2 during the livestream two weeks from now. After that, Kō can start working on PV3. As for these character intro videos, let's wait until they're all finished, then release them one by one next year."
"So PV2 will be the last release this year?"
Ichin smiled and nodded. "I'm still deciding. Maybe I'll put PV3 out at the end of the year, or maybe wait until next year."
Utaha started counting on her fingers. "If PV2 comes out in October, then nothing in November and December… Those crazy online fans are definitely going to hound you for more."
"Let them," Ichin said with a grin. "What, are they going to mail me knives or something?"
