The helicopters approaching were several Mi-8s. This type of helicopter is a medium-sized transport aircraft capable of carrying weight measured in tons, mainly used for personnel rescue and transport.
These helicopters were chosen because the four descending individuals had to be tied with red firefighting hoses, which were as long as ten thousand meters. Just the weight of the ten-thousand-meter-long firefighting hoses was astonishing, and light helicopters simply couldn't bear it.
Considering the length of the Snow Gully spanned several kilometers, to conduct a more thorough search, the helicopters had to maintain a safe distance from each other. After discussion among the four, they decided on a descent interval of about one kilometer.
If there were any changes during descent or after the firefighting hose was used up, they would immediately contact the helicopters above through the satellite communicators each person carried and ascend urgently.
