"So, you're a python?"
After listening to Deng Chen's story, Tan Wenbin looked at him curiously, reaching out to lift the other's sleeve, trying to find snake scales.
Deng Chen smiled wryly and rolled up both sleeves himself, allowing the other to touch and search freely:
"The black python is my spiritual form, but I've never had an actual python body, nor have I ever eaten a rat."
"Then this body of yours is?"
"Someone else's, he suddenly had a heart attack at the time and was actually dead. I borrowed his body to live."
"Is it like a spirit possessing a body?"
"Sort of... yes."
"Since you are called Deng Chen, does that mean the previous body's owner had the last name Chen?"
"No, the original owner of this body was surnamed Deng, called Deng Chen. Deng is his father's last name, Chen is his mother's last name. At his grandmother's house, he was called Deng Chen, and at his maternal grandmother's house, he was called Chen Deng."
