Chapter 6 - Travel Time

*Muzuka POV*

*Location: Alaskan Wilderness*

*Date: August 1st, 2009*

Walking over to the runt who was still crawling away, trying her best to get away from me. Now that I could get a good whiff of them without their teammate's scent in the way, I mean their smell still lingered in the air, but it wasn't as strong as before. I think she was a female, although I couldn't tell as the smell of mutt alongside a bunch of other odd scents was in the way.

Still, though I was 85% sure they were a female, and well, apparently, they hadn't been washing their fur properly. I could tell that it was a bit darker than the other pack members, meaning they weren't taking care of themselves properly. Didn't matter as I approached them, I leaned down to pick them up by the arm, whilst resetting their leg.

They'd still be injured, but well, they would recover a bit more smoothly, and they would be useful for right now. When I went to grab them, they got a syringe out, and while they had a clear resemblance to the one used by the pack leader, it was a bit darker. Probably a prototype of the substance, or maybe something built specifically for them, didn't matter as I grabbed it right away, surprising her as I tossed it into the nearest tree, shattering it and letting the strange substance flow into the dirt.

"So with that out of the way, why don't you tell me your name?"

I then picked them up and slung them over my shoulder as I approached the vehicle, knowing I would need her to operate it. Seeing as I had absolutely no idea how it even worked, well, he would be the next best thing, alongside my own personal guide wherever I am. Honestly, the place seemed familiar, but at the same time, the scent, the very air it smelled off, was far more foul than anything I was used to. Which begged the question, beyond my lost memories, how long was I asleep for?

"So then, how about telling me your name, mutt, otherwise that's what I'm gonna keep calling you." I said as I opened the side door in the front and tossed her in.

I then went over to the other side, and entered, seeing what I think controlled the vehicle was a wheel, some levers, and pedals of some kind. Which made me realize my mistake as I grabbed her again as she groaned, yanking her to the other side as I went back over and entered the passenger side. Entering, I saw that she was huffing as she put on a strange strap thing, so I mimicked her putting my own on.

"First off, Mutt is insulting, and second, my name is Beatrice or Hound, as my former team called me." She said as the vehicle began humming for some reason, honestly, it was like those instruments inside the facility, I couldn't tell you what they did or how they functioned. I mean, I knew it wasn't magic or something like that, but it might as well have been to me.

"Well, Beatrice, care to take me to wherever Neo Inc. is located?"

Then we slowly began moving through the snow, the vehicle's wheels having a particularly hard time at the moment, probably because it was sitting idle for too long. So it probably just needed a minute before it could start moving again.

"Well, that depends, do you even know where you are, because Neo is all over the world, so you're going to have to be more specific."

I rubbed my head, sighing, knowing that this was going to be a long *Splat*. That's when I heard it, a sudden pop of some kind, and the vehicle quickly went out of control. I looked over, about to yell at Beatrice, when I saw that her head had been destroyed somehow, which explained the popp, and it also meant that whoever did that to her probably had something similar in mind for the test subjects, the others they made using my DNA.

Which meant that the vehicle was out of control and currently heading for a cliff! So seeing this, I did the next best thing and kicked the door down, undoing the strap-thing before doing so. I then leaped out of the moving vehicle as it kept on gaining speed, eventually driving itself off into the crevice just as I hit a tree that thankfully stopped my landing.

It wasn't as painful as it would've been for a human, but no matter what, it's gonna hurt a tiny bit at least. Either way, though, that meant I had to figure out a way to wherever the nearest piece of civilization. I slapped myself, letting out a loud sigh, seeing as my only source of information just went kaboom, and in that moment, I heard a loud explosion, solidifying her death.

Sure, it was a horrible thing that happened to her, but I just rampaged through an entire facility of people and killed her teammates, so it wouldn't be my first brush with death.

"Well, I already have a basic idea of where to go, how hard can it be to find a piece of civilization?"

*Location: Alazkan Airport*

*October 2nd, 2009*

Months, it took months to find what apparently was a new mode of transportation, aka flying. Right now, I was standing inside the building, having taken a recent shower at what the humans called "Homeless Shelter" or something like that, didn't matter as I amassed enough cash, I think it was called, to purchase a nice seat on the plane itself.

I mean, during my trek through the woods, it wasn't hard to find and cook some food whenever I got hungry, but the walking itself was the most annoying thing. Then, when I reached a small settlement, I found a place called a library and sorted through this new piece of technology called a computer alongside the internet. Made finding information extremely easy and less time-consuming, especially with the group known as Neo Inc.

It was something called a pharmaceutical firm of some kind, I didn't know what it meant, nor cared, as it simply meant, based on my findings, they have the money to supply their little experiments.

"Boarding Group B, now boarding."

Hearing the group on my ticket being called, I grabbed my tiny suitcase thing and began getting on board the lane. Anyway, the fact that they were so diverse and spread around could make it harder to find them. It also meant that starting where it all started could be the best course of action, alongside the people who ran the show.

Oh well, it was just one location, there were always others and either way New York City sounded fun anyway.
