The two continued to look over the book in the flowerbed, as Marie and her husband made it back to the room. She was placed back into the bed as she began to be given her medicine by her husband.
"Alister, you don't have to–"
"No, I need to take care of you. You're not as strong as you were."
"Urgh…there you go, treating me like a baby."
"Well, you are still recovering…"
"That damn beast is the reason why I'm even in this situation…If only I were more aware…I could teach Iris personally, like I did Rowan."
"She has your tenacity, I'll tell you that."
Her eyes softened, looking out of the window and down into the flowerbed where the two were reading over the book together.
"I just…hope this all goes well…"
"Me too…"
Iris turned back to the window and stared longingly before Rowan instructed her to focus on the spells before he took the book away. She stuck her tongue out at him and smiled as she continued to read the writings within the book, hoping to one day learn from her mother and become a skilled mage like her.

"Yeah…she really was, she would've liked you. Oddly enough."
"What makes you say that…?"
Iris let off a small laugh, before looking back at the fire. Her eyes focused entirely on the flames.
"I just know it."
"Well…what happened next…?"
