Chapter 137 - Compromising - Chapter 11

"Polleniere!"

She yelled out as her wand faced forward, small yellow sparks began to form around her wand. She moved her wand around as the sparks followed her motions until they fizzled out quickly. Leaving Iris with a disappointed expression.

"See, she can barely hold out the easiest spells."

"Rowan."

"What? If she can't do it then she can't–"

"I thought she was brilliant."

A softer tone was heard from the entrance of the home's paned doors, a woman standing gingerly in the doorway held a smile on her face as the children faced her. Iris' eyes began to well up before running off from her position and hugging her tightly. She then bent down to hug the girl as the other two began to walk over. Iris buried her face into the woman's white gown as tears streamed down her eyes and whines bellowed about.

"Now who's making my little bud cry this time…" she said as she lifted Iris into her arms and held her closely. She turned quickly and pointed at Rowan who crossed his arms angrily at the accusation.

"It was Rowan…he was bullying me…!"

"Wha– no I wasn't!"

"Yuh-huh"

"Nuh-uh!"

The two continued to jaw at one another before a small laugh was heard from the woman, who seemed to be very used to these two going at one another. The man walked behind her and placed his hand on her hip to support her.

"You shouldn't be out of bed, Marie."

"Well, there's no way I could rest, hearing these two go at it from the balcony."

"That's a very fair point."

Iris looked up at her and pouted, feeling guilty that her fussing caused her mother to stop her rest. She felt that if only she could've just been a better spellcaster, then maybe there wouldn't be as many arguments and breakups needed.
