"Mind if I sit with you…ladies…?"
Alma looked at Iris with excited eyes as she realized who this boy was based on Iris' reaction. She looked at Dante with a bright smile and welcomed him graciously.
"Not at all! Take the seat next to Iris if you will!"
"Alma–!"
"What? He wants to sit. You two seem to know each other."
"That doesn't change the fact–"
"If you will…"
"Dante. Dante is my name."
"Oh? What a bold name! I like it. Good build too for a mage…"
"ALMA–!"
Iris moved over into the stall as Dante sat next to her. Her hands began to tense up as she grabbed at her skirt nervously. After everything they've talked about, this felt like the worst possible time to see him in Iris's eyes. Not knowing of his true intentions put her on guard as soon as he sat, trying not to make direct eye contact the entire time. Alma, on the other hand, wanted to learn more about Iris' "partner" in question.
"So, Dante…I hear you and Iris are school partners. How'd that come to be?"
"Oh, we were selected randomly by our teacher; we somehow ended up with one another."
"Hmm, I see, I see!"
"Though it's started pretty rocky, I hope to make things work with Iris, if she'd allow me."
Alma's eyes darted to Iris, who in turn began to be stared down by Dante. He looked at her intently. She never noticed the more minor details in his face as she began to look at herself, seeing his sharper jawline and sharper teeth. Alma, noticing the tension, began to egg on the situation.
"C'mon, Iris, don't you see he's trying to connect with ya, why not give 'em a chance! He won't bite!"
"Y-yeah, I won't!"
"I…ah–"
