Aurelia had summoned many Principalities and Archangels to support the human troops, and thus the Principality of Livia had been assigned to lead a squad of Archangels by the Mother.
They had been granted an important mission: to eliminate anyone affiliated with the church of Chrunus and possible Chaos Elementals. Livia flapped her wings and, together with her glorious siblings, rose into the air.
They were close to the border, yet they were not to destroy it, no matter what. They needed to be as precise as a surgeon's scalpel. Remove the cancer that was the church of Chrunus and bring Zigurat into the fold.
Her silver eyes darted around the pathetic human settlement they called a border city. It was rather funny that Mother herself wished to preserve it, yet it was not Livia's choice.
If she were in charge, she would have obliterated the city together with the humans inside it. For her, there were two kinds of people in the world: those who obeyed Mother and those who deserved death.
Her wings pushed the air beneath her as she locked onto what she knew was a church glorifying Chrunus; it was far too opulent in comparison to the rest of the city.
She covered her mouth as she suppressed the disgust she felt. Mother was far too kind to allow such entities to fester in the world ruled by her and her husband. It was heretical to exist and not glorify the Queen.
She pointed toward the church and then slid her finger over her neck. "Purge all priests inside!"
Instantly, four Archangels plunged down through the roof of the church and, after a mere moment, a sweet melody of heretics dying in pain rang in her ears. She clasped her hands together and prayed, "Mother, may your grace deliver them."
She spread her wings and glided down gently on the street, the disgusting filth that were the heretical humans scammered around her, yet she did not care.
Mother loved them no matter how flawed they may have been; Livia could at least tolerate those existences, at least for a while.
She strode forward to the church's entrance. While her most loyal Archangels purged the fools, she would make sure nobody ran out. And so she was ready to greet them with the edge of her axe.
She opened her hand toward her side and materialized a large battle axe. While not the most elegant of weapons, it truly was effective when it came to purging the enemies of Mother.
After a moment, the ornate doors of the church swung open, and from it came rushing multiple priests and some foolish believers.
'Umu, I should leave the believers alive as per Mother's orders.' The filth that worshipped a false god stopped before her; their fear was an aroma she enjoyed with her whole being.
She let the crowd of people pass her before she grinned at the sight of three terrified priests. She slammed her axe in the ground, "[Command] Heretics, stop!"
The three priests stopped in their tracks as she dragged the axe through the ground.
The screeching metal sound grated against their ears, yet they could not move.
"Greetings, priests of Chrunus. My name is Livia, and I am the Principality of Discord." She smirked as she threw her axe over her shoulder.
Their frail frames trembled as she approached them.
"Who are you?" The first priest spoke with a shaky voice, yet what answered was silence.
Then, after what seemed to be eternity, Livia spoke, "I am Mother's Blade, and by her decree, you will die, so that she may purge this land and bring it to the glory it deserves."
"Mother?" The second spoke.
Swish
His head was instantly lopped off. "Have I given you permission to speak, cretin?" She turned toward the sky and exhaled, "You truly are unforgivable existences. Your so-called church had made my mother's life miserable, and thus I have no sympathy to give."
"We..." His words were interrupted by the hateful glare of Livia.
"I will not have even a word out of your mouth without my permission. Understood?" She slowly walked over to the cowering priests. From behind them, the four archangels that purged the church made their way out.
"Directive: Purge the Church of Chrunus fulfilled, Honorable VIP."
"Good. That only leaves these two fools." Her lips curled up into a sadistic grin.
She leaned closer to the older priest, his brown eyes were sunken from age, and the hood was ragged due to the long life of priestly duty, "You see, I am rather generous. Unlike many Principalities, I do not enjoy the thrill of battle." She leaned back and turned.
"But you know what I relish in?"
They stared at her, their bodies frozen in fear.
"The smell of death of those who dare go against my Mother." She frowned, "Now I allow you to speak and beg for your pathetic lives."
Livia raised her axe.
The first priest, despite his fear, steeled himself, "You are one who is a fool! You will draw the ire of Chrunus."
"Chrunus? Huh?" Livia lowered her axe, which made the priest exhale. They gained an arrogant expression on their face.
Livia couldn't hold her laughter as she burst into a fit, "Chrunus! Hahahaha! He is in the process of dying at this very moment."
"Huh?!" The priest stumbled back as Livia raised her weapon once more.
"My Mother's Husband had decided to hunt down Chrunus himself for daring go against his wife. He truly is a great man." She smiled as the paladin became a red mist with a mere swing of the weapon.
She turned toward the last Priest, Livia tilted her head, and tapped her cheek. "No point in prolonging this, thank you for giving me such an amazing joke, but you are dying now."
She swung her battleaxe, and with a horizontal slash, the final priest's head was lopped of.
The army of Zigurat could not respond to the immensely mobile and fast-moving unit that were the angels. While they prepared to face the first legion, the Angels could wreak havoc without disturbance.
"Hah!" She adjusted her shoulders as she let go of her weapon. "That clears this city, now to clear out the capital."
