With a wave of his hand, pure energy constructed a magnificent palace on the lunar surface. Elysia had seen this ability to conjure things from the void demonstrated by Mobius before.
But Mobius could only create small things like tables and chairs. The scale of Ryan's creation was dimensionally different. Because Elysia had accidentally fallen asleep during one of Mei's meetings, she didn't understand this new energy structure at all.
But that didn't matter. What mattered was that this day had finally arrived!
A flush still lingered on Elysia's face. She stood by the window, looking at the distant blue star and secretly glancing at the man beside her. Though it had been many years, there was no feeling of unfamiliarity.
Ryan was still Ryan, completely unchanged. I was a little too excited just now. Did I seem unladylike?
But since Mobius and the others aren't here yet, I should seize the small advantage.
The girl's mind wandered, while Ryan looked at the distant blue star and the fireballs blooming sequentially in space, momentarily lost in thought.
He didn't need Elysia to tell him; he had already 'seen' what had happened over the years. His gaze even pierced the Sea of Quanta, observing the frontline of the war.
Hundreds of World Bubbles had been converted into fortresses, filled with technology previously unimaginable. He even saw the figure of a certain Pure Love Archbishop, busy amidst piles of documents.
In his rare moments of leisure, he would pull out the pendant on his chest, stroke the photo of his wife and daughter, and smile warmly.
Such pure love. I really want to mess with him across dimensions.
Ryan felt a surge of mischief.
"Ryan, what are you thinking about?"
A head suddenly appeared in front of him, slightly interrupting Ryan's thoughts. He turned his head to answer:
"Nothing. I was just looking at Otto Apocalypse. He's actually on the front line."
"Mei thinks highly of him. Wait, you didn't have anything to do with that, did you? I always feel like he resembles an old friend."
"Uh, I had a very small hand in it, but it wasn't intentional." Ryan adopted a thoughtful expression. Did I really manipulate the threads of fate?
"See? Mei's guess was right. You subconsciously affect the world's process. Let me guess." Elysia scratched her cheek. After a moment's thought, her eyes lit up.
"You didn't interfere with Cecilia's dream, did you? One day, when she was dating Siegfried, she suddenly felt she would have two daughters, and she even thought of their names in advance. And then she really gave birth to Bianca and Kiana!"
Huh? When did I do that?
Ryan was slightly dazed. Before recovering his consciousness, he hadn't actively tried to influence anything. But hearing Elysia's words, he suddenly snapped back.
"Wait, how do you know Cecilia?"
"Because I often go to her house for free food. Her cake is quite delicious." Elysia propped up her chin, gently swaying her head. Then she suddenly became alert: "Hey, why did you deliberately do something like that? You don't have feelings for Kiana, do you? You can't! She's Kevin's descendant. It would mess up the seniority."
"I don't think Kevin would mind me calling him a distant ancestor." Ryan laughed at the thought, then seeing Elysia pout, he spread his hands. "Just kidding. How could I have feelings for a child like that?"
Do I really not? Could the obsession from the early days of my crossing to 'seduce all Valkyries' have unintentionally stirred up trouble?
Ryan questioned himself again. He looked at the still-wary Elysia and slowly shook his head. "It must be to make up for regrets. Regrets you don't know about. Seeing the world like this, I'm very happy. I truly didn't entrust it to the wrong person."
Supernatural yet not dangerous, peaceful yet still containing battles. This was already an incredibly ideal outcome.
"Don't celebrate too early. A lot of people are ready to settle scores with you." Elysia didn't pursue the matter of regrets. After all, she had been happy these past years, traveling around when she had time, sleeping when she was tired, and visiting friends when she was bored.
"But the crisis is about to reach its peak. It's a good thing you woke up, or the current situation would definitely be broken."
"Sa?"
"Mhm. He must be almost ready. But I've never worried about Him, because I knew you wouldn't oversleep."
Elysia was still the same, viewing everything with optimism. Ryan slightly straightened his back. He liked being trusted by this girl.
"Sa is not a problem. I can solve Him very quickly."
"How quickly?"
"In the blink of an eye."
Elysia slightly opened her mouth. She had thought Ryan would lead the Fire Moth-Chaser into another war, which would undoubtedly be a victory, but she never expected the man to say it so casually.
"Mhm. It seems you're even more reliable than I thought." She patted Ryan's shoulder in an old-fashioned manner, completely disregarding the terrifying power the man possessed. However, her smile stiffened slightly.
"I thought I could stall for some time to talk about old memories with you, but you have to leave so soon."
Elysia knew what Ryan's Path was. He would never stop moving. She became conflicted.
"This leaf can no longer contain me. I definitely have to go." Ryan paused, looking at the clearly unhappy girl. "Why don't you come with me? We can see even more brilliant sights."
"But I can't leave my home behind. And there are many friends who can't go." Elysia frowned slightly. She wasn't lying to herself; she was genuinely conflicted.
Leaving Mobius and the others aside, the entire Fire Moth-Chaser couldn't be moved, nor could he take all the humans she loved.
Ryan knew exactly what she was conflicted about. That conflict actually made him feel comfortable. He simply grasped Elysia's hand.
"Don't worry. I'll leave a channel so you can come back anytime you want to visit."
"Hey, that's a good idea! I have no problem then!"
Watching the satisfied girl, Ryan laughed again. The answer was already in his anticipation. He never thought he'd have to use words to persuade her.
Just like their intertwined hands, they were already inextricably linked. All the worries Elysia had, he would resolve himself.
"Then I'll go finish up first. I should also leave Mei and the others some time to gather. The channel will be permanent anyway, so anyone who wants to visit can do so anytime."
"Hmm? I thought you'd wait for everyone to arrive to say goodbye."
"That kind of sad scene is too boring. Besides, just like you, I'm fond of this world, too. Tell me, why strive for power?" Ryan's voice faded along with his body, silently vanishing into the cosmos.
Elysia held her empty hand, feeling a momentary sense of loss, but the curve of her lips immediately returned.
"Of course, it's to live a life free of sorrow or regret, entirely as you please."
Her heart was filled with happiness and joy. She blinked triumphantly. As expected of the man I love most. He already planned everything.
Why be conflicted? Why be filled with the sadness of parting? Why make a choice?
Hmph hmph. With Ryan around, no matter what world, no matter what difficulty, she could ensure happiness lasted forever.
This confidence had somehow been planted in her heart, becoming a part of her 'true self.' Elysia gracefully turned, leaning against the window, seeing several figures hurriedly appear in the hallway.
Mobius, Fu Hua, Eden, and Aponia had all arrived. They only saw Elysia standing alone by the window, their expressions immediately tightening. Glancing around nervously, their tension became even more pronounced.
"Ellie, Senior Brother... Senior Brother didn't just..." Fu Hua spoke with difficulty, as if terrified of the answer. She took a half-step back after speaking.
The atmosphere instantly became eerie. Despair and anger began to spread. Elysia didn't dare to joke at a time like this and replied earnestly, "Where is your mind wandering to? Even if he were leaving, he wouldn't do so without saying goodbye."
"Phew. I thought Senior Brother's body was gone, too." The girl let out a long breath. This time, it was Elysia's eye that twitched.
This Wooden Pole is still so prone to overthinking. She was afraid Ryan turned into a ghost. I should have teased her.
"So where did he run off to?" Mobius's words were quick. She didn't care about Fu Hua's wild thoughts.
"You guys left a mess, so he had to go clean it up himself."
The statement immediately made the group gloomy. They had rushed through the front line only to find an empty spot. They should have stayed in Earth's orbit.
"You're the last person who gets to criticize us. You were the first one to rush to the Moon!" Mobius felt ambushed again, with a sense of cleverness backfiring.
But she didn't sulk for long. She quickly turned to leave. The first spoonful of the soup had been taken by the fatty, so she absolutely had to snatch the second. But after only a few steps, her foot froze.
That feeling... Did the vixen arrive to reinforce him so quickly?
Damn it! I won't make it in time for the second spoonful either. Forget it. I'll just grab the third.
"My dear Mobius, there's something I wanted to tell you."
"Fatty, you wouldn't be so shameless as to hog him all to yourself, would you? We've all been waiting for fifty thousand years." Mobius turned around, her snake eyes filled with suspicion.
Elysia smiled merrily, pointing to the side. "Of course not! Good things are more fun when shared. I just wanted to remind you that you should hurry because Hua already left."
Mobius looked to the side. A certain Shanzhou Flat Chest was dissolving into particles. She had transformed into a void illusion sometime without anyone noticing.
For a moment, Mobius's head felt like it would explode. Her face turned crimson, and she pursed her lips.
Fine! I'm the most honest one here!
A green bolt of lightning vanished from the lunar surface, flying in a straight line toward Earth, looking as if it were heading to settle a debt. This made Elysia's smile even more brilliant. She quietly covered her stomach, looking at Eden and Aponia.
"Hmm? Aren't you two going?"
"Mobius is about to explode with anger. I don't want to be held accountable by her." Eden nodded gracefully. She and Aponia seemed to have reached an agreement.
"There will be plenty of time anyway. There will be many opportunities to participate in this war."
War? That's right. Ryan's power could flatten everything, but this was the one thing he couldn't do.
Elysia's eyes sparkled with starlight, showing an expression of amusement.
"Heh, I'm looking forward to life after this. It's going to be very lively and happy."
She was always optimistic and had grown accustomed to finding joy amidst suffering. Now, she felt like she was soaking in a honey pot.
This expression looked familiar to Eden and Aponia, like one they had seen on a certain person who liked to hide. They exchanged glances and also laughed out loud.
"We are, too."
