Chapter 328 - Chapter 328: Interlude – Bardock’s Chapter (2)

One of the planets serving as a base for Freeza's army, designated TS3000.

The planet's surface bore a striking resemblance to the primary base of the Freeza Force—designed purely for efficiency, mechanical and cold, with no regard for aesthetics.

Various spacecraft frequently traversed between the sky and the ground, either landing on the base's docking platforms or taking off to leave the atmosphere.

Command Tower, Control Center

Inside, numerous alien species worked diligently, managing various communications—exchanges with other bases, coordination with outbound vessels, and directives from the army's headquarters. Of course, they were also responsible for planetary surveillance and defense systems.

"Warning! An unidentified spacecraft is approaching the atmosphere at high speed..."

"Warning! An unidentified spacecraft is approaching the atmosphere at high speed..."

The alarm echoed repeatedly through the vast command hall. On the main screen, a radar display flickered with an incoming signal.

"Commander, scans detect a power level inside the unidentified craft!"

"What's the reading?"

"F-Five thousand!"

"Five thousand? That's a dangerous figure... Who could it be?"

A high-ranking officer of the alien command staff frowned and pressed a button on the control panel, speaking into the microphone. "Transmit a warning message to the target spacecraft. Planetary-grade anti-air cannons—lock on and await further orders."

"Yes, sir!"

Outside the base, the metallic ground split open, revealing multiple square-shaped openings. One after another, enormous turrets emerged—each capable of obliterating an asteroid. Their barrels simultaneously adjusted, aiming at a specific point in the sky.

Beep. Beep. Beep.

A warning transmission, using the standard galactic frequency, was instantly relayed toward the approaching craft.

Beep. Beep. Beep.

Inside the massive spherical vessel, wrapped in blazing atmospheric flames, Bardock stood with his arms crossed, his golden hair and emerald eyes reflecting the cold steel of his surroundings. Behind him, the central console continued beeping with alerts—warnings from Freeza's base.

"Commander, the target is not responding."

"Then there's no need for further warnings. Destroy it immediately."

"Understood!"

The massive ship pierced through the planet's atmosphere, flames dissipating upon entry. Bardock ignored the alerts, his gaze fixed outside the viewport, where the enemy base came into view beyond the clouds.

"Ten planetary anti-air cannons ready!"

"Fire!"

Click.

The launch command was issued. For an instant, the entire command center seemed to tremble. The distant echo of massive artillery discharging could be faintly heard.

Bardock glanced back briefly before turning and walking toward the ship's exit.

Inside the command center, the alien officer sneered. "A mere power level of five thousand, and they dare intrude upon a Freeza Force base? Hmph! In three seconds, they'll be erased from the radar."

And indeed, he was nearly proven correct. In less than a second, the incoming radar signal vanished.

Just as the officer was about to smirk in satisfaction, a subordinate muttered in confusion, "That's odd... The planetary cannons haven't even hit the target yet."

The officer's expression froze.

Another subordinate rushed in, panicked. "Commander! The target's power signature... hasn't disappeared!"

BOOM! BOOM! BOOOOOM!

A few hundred meters above the base, the ten planetary-grade anti-air shells converged, detonating in a catastrophic explosion capable of wiping out an entire life-bearing world.

Yet, amidst the firestorm, a faint golden silhouette stood, undisturbed.

Bardock gripped the capsule retrieved from the massive spherical ship with one hand and extended the other to create an energy barrier in front of him.

The barrage of missiles, powerful enough to obliterate a giant planet, struck him all at once, but they couldn't even touch the hem of his clothes.

"Freeza, the Saiyan's debt has been paid. Now, it's your turn."

Bardock tucked the capsule into his chest and coldly muttered in the air. The first word still hung high in the sky, but the last syllable had already trailed off several hundred meters below, scattering in the howling wind.

Bardock sped toward the ground, leaving a brief streak of golden light across the sky.

An explosion suddenly rocked one corner of the base on the planet's surface.

Boom!

The ground trembled.

Inside the high tower command center, the alien staff scrambled in chaos. The alien officer shouted, "He's disappeared! What do you mean he's disappeared?! Has he been killed or not...?" The walls shook as an explosion rang out from outside.

"Calm down! Five thousand battle power? That's absolutely no threat to this base!"

The officer slammed his hand on the control panel. "Alert the combat team in Zone E. I'm ordering you to capture this intruder, this madman, and bring him before me within ten minutes!"

"Commander..." came a hesitant voice from the other side of the communication. "Zone E... it's gone..."

"What did you say?!" the officer exclaimed, shocked.

"Ah, we... we also..." the voice trailed off before the final blast was heard, followed by static.

"Impossible..." The officer slumped back into his chair, furrowing his brows, cold sweat trickling down his face.

"Commander! We've located him!"

A subordinate shouted, and after manipulating several buttons, the large screen flickered to show a live feed from the command center's security cameras.

The aliens in the command center perked up as the officer coldly stared at the screen. It was the hallway in the base's Zone C.

In the metallic corridor, a golden-haired figure stood upright, strolling like he was taking a leisurely walk. He appeared to be searching for someone, yet he didn't seem to be looking around frantically.

Suddenly, the man, who had already stepped out of the camera's range, turned back. He raised his head, expressionless, and looked directly at the surveillance camera.

The aliens in the command center froze, their breath caught in their throats. What cold, ruthless eyes! The presence was far more terrifying than the Ginyu Force...

"Whoever you are, if you've come to challenge the Freeza Force, you're asking for death!" The officer slammed his fist on the control panel and gritted his teeth. "I advise you to..."

"I want to know where Freeza is right now," the golden-haired man in the monitor calmly asked. "I'll give you two seconds to decide."

With that, Bardock's green eyes flashed, and an overwhelming surge of energy erupted from his gaze, forming a massive energy field that engulfed the entire Zone C. The energy exploded... and Zone C was completely obliterated, reduced to rubble.

Above the smoldering ruins, a golden figure stood, unmoving. He turned his gaze toward the distant high tower.

In the next instant, his figure blurred into a shadow, vanishing in the wind.

Meanwhile, Bardock had already arrived outside the command center tower. Through the rare, space-grade metallic walls, he could sense the officer from earlier inside.

He reached out, effortlessly tearing through the metal wall as if it were cotton.

Inside the command center, the Freeza Force aliens stared in shock as sunlight streamed through the torn metal, casting the golden figure in shadow. It almost seemed as though the figure was a monster, evoking a chilling sensation, like the presence of King Freeza himself.

"Alright, your two seconds are up."
