Axton had never truly believed that dreams could reflect reality with such detail and accuracy. To him, dreams were nothing more than fragments of the subconscious random blends of memories, fears, and unfulfilled desires. Not worth relying on, let alone using as the basis for important decisions. Certainly not as a clue to the truth.
But tonight, something had shaken that belief. Lucas sat across from him, speaking in a calm yet certain tone. He wasn't rushing, nor was he trying to persuade. And somehow, it was that calmness that made his words feel so heavy. His gaze was clear devoid of lies, free from doubt. Just pure conviction, so sincere it sent a chill down Axton's spine.
For the first time, Axton began to consider the possibility that Lucas's dream… wasn't just a dream. Maybe there was something behind it. A clue. A distorted fragment of reality. Or perhaps a warning of what was to come.
Strangely, he felt intrigued.
