Chapter 326 - 326: Pick Up the Crucible Fragments

Umbridge suddenly let out a big yawn and sat up from the bed, putting on a drowsy, just-woken-up act.

Kasenhis raised an eyebrow. So she was still pretending.

He didn't bother giving her any face at all. "Professor Umbridge, this is an Alchemy classroom, not a dormitory. What you're doing here is—"

Seeing this, Umbridge was just about to make a run for it, when she suddenly remembered something.

Wasn't this the perfect opportunity to uphold the dignity of the Ministry, disrupt Hogwarts' teaching schedule, and disgust the entire Hogwarts staff and student body?

Instantly, her back no longer ached and her legs no longer hurt. She flicked her wand, transfiguring her nightgown into proper formal robes, then casually dragged over a chair and sat down at the very back of the classroom.

"Please continue the lesson. As the Head of Student Discipline, I have every duty, right, and capability to sit in on classes and point out errors in your teaching."

The moment Umbridge finished speaking, a few particularly lively students were already preparing to give her a little alchemical shock.

They were quickly and forcibly suppressed by Kasenhis.

"Sit in? Fine." For once, Kasenhis didn't pull any fancy tricks and simply began lecturing on his own.

The twenty-minute theory portion ended quickly. Sitting at the back, Umbridge listened until she was half asleep. But the moment the twenty minutes were up and practical time began, she immediately perked up.

"Today, I've decided to take you back to the fundamentals. Take out your Thaumic Crucibles. I'll lead you through a review of the basics of alchemy—equivalent exchange and elemental transmutation," Kasenhis said, pulling out a crucible from the Age of Thaumaturgy first.

He didn't actually have any other ulterior motives.

He just genuinely hoped that any random student would produce a bit of Flux and kill Umbridge on the spot.

How could that possibly count as bad intentions?

But clearly, Umbridge wanted to dig an even bigger grave for herself.

After watching the students set their crucibles on the desks and then wave their wands to place shimmering yellow light beneath them, she immediately got fired up.

"Stop! Stop! Stop! This is against the rules!" Umbridge shouted.

But the seventh-year students below her could be said to not give a single damn.

In the end, seeing that she couldn't control anyone at all, Umbridge had no choice but to return to her desk, pull out a copy of the Hogwarts Student Code of Conduct she had drafted overnight, and storm angrily toward Kasenhis.

"This violates regulations! The Ministry stipulates that during Hogwarts classes, students are only allowed to use specific, standardized spells, and the magic you're letting them use isn't even listed in the handbook!" Umbridge said with a smug smile.

"What they're using isn't spells. They're using alchemy," Kasenhis said coldly.

"That's also not permitted. The alchemy curriculum specifies that students may only use alchemical atlases and alchemy simulation books purchased by professors from Ministry-designated locations!" Umbridge snapped.

"What did you say?" Kasenhis frowned.

"I said… alchemy practice is not allowed. Under the Ministry's correct regulations, they can only use alchemical atlases and alchemy simulation books to learn!" Umbridge repeated.

"But that way you can't actually learn anything," the Weasley twins said bluntly.

"Whether you can learn anything is not for you to decide. That's the Ministry's authority!" Umbridge snapped, glaring viciously at the twins.

"But—" The Weasley twins tried to say more, only for Umbridge to flick her wand. The crucible on their desk exploded instantly.

Bang!

Along with the sound of the explosion came a crisp slap.

Umbridge's head jerked mechanically to one side.

Kasenhis was staring at his palm, now coated in a thick layer of white chalk dust, wiping it off with a handkerchief with a look of pure disgust.

"Apologize," he said curtly.

"What did you say? No—what did you just do?" Umbridge twisted her head back, trembling as she looked at Kasenhis, who stood on the lectern towering more than a head above her.

Kasenhis raised an eyebrow. The motion of wiping his hand paused. He lifted his hand and delivered another slap, perfectly symmetrical to the first.

"That is what I just did. Now, you need to apologize. Apologize to the Weasley twins."

"Do you have any idea who you just hit?!" Umbridge shrieked, furiously pulling out her wand—bang!

Only to be seized in an instant by the quick-reacting Weasley twins, who slammed her face-first onto the nearest desk.

Cedric also stepped forward and directly snatched her wand away.

"A Ministry… vermin?" Kasenhis looked at the state of the classroom with clear satisfaction.

Every student was glaring at Umbridge with anger, and three of the more hands-on lads had already gotten physical.

This was an absolute, devastating blow to the Ministry's and Umbridge's fake authority.

And once word of what happened in this class spread, Umbridge trying to stir trouble in other professors' classes would be pointless.

With Professor Kasenhis setting the example, everyone would know that the Ministry and this so-called Head of Student Discipline were nothing but empty shells. Without the students' and professors' fear, her plans to cause chaos at Hogwarts would be completely useless.

Wasn't that perfect?

"You'll be judged. You'll be sent to Azkaban. Those two Weasley brats will be expelled, and their father will be fired too! They will!" Umbridge hissed hoarsely at Kasenhis, using a voice only the two of them could hear.

Kasenhis took a somewhat helpless deep breath. He was starting to seriously question Umbridge's intelligence.

No—whether she even had any to begin with was still up for debate.

And before anything else...

There was only one thing he could do.

Slap!

Another crisp slap rang out.

Kasenhis looked down at Umbridge from above. "I now require you to apologize to the Weasley twins, and to every student in this classroom."

"Impossible."

Kasenhis nodded. Very good. He liked people with backbone.

So he decisively pulled out an enchanted diamond sword.

"I hope you can keep up this unruly attitude," Kasenhis said as he raised the diamond sword.

Seeing this, Umbridge immediately threw all dignity out the window. Her knee-slide was lightning-fast.

"I'm very sorry! I'm sorry for what I did! I beg the students to forgive me!"

The twins watched Umbridge cave and cautiously looked toward Kasenhis.

He nodded, and only then did the twins slowly release Umbridge. Just as she was about to slink out of the classroom in disgrace, Kasenhis spoke again.

"Pick up the crucible fragments."
