Harran and his troops had reached the town and by they point the people had already noticed their approach, not to mention the fact that they had announced their arrival with the display of their teleportation spell which had definitely garnered their attention. The commander saw people wearing the guild's uniform and the mayor standing at the entrance and he can see the nervousness on their faces. He and his troops stopped a bit away from them as the mayor stepped with an amicable smile on his face.
"My lord, to what do I owe the pleasure of having the knights of the Church visit my town?" The mayor asked the sentinel as Harran looked at the man.
"We have noticed a disturbance around this area, and wish to investigate it. Since the guild is already here, it makes things easier for us." Harran said as he looked at the branch leader.
"Of course sir knight, how can the guild assist you?" The branch master asked the knight respectfully.
"Had anything happened in the area that can be considered out of the norm or unusual ot surprising." Harran asked the man with authority.
"Well, if you're asking about something unusual and extraordinary, then there was one thing that was reported yesterday." The branch master said to the man.
"What is it?" Harran asked as he narrowed his eyes.
"An adventurer's party of two had taken a mission to clear out a goblin nest, which turned out to be the temple of an unknown God. They also found an Ogre living in there, the two however managed to kill it. That was about the only interesting thing that had happened." The branch master said to the man.
"That was all?" Harran asked him feeling suspicious.
While the fact that two adventurers had managed to kill an Ogre is a pretty unusual thing, he was here to find out about the divine artifact that was in the area, not about how two adventurers had managed to defeat an Ogre.
'But they could be good soldiers if they are that strong.' Harran thought to himself before he focused back on the conversation.
"Is there anything else of interest?" Harran asked the branch master.
"Well, aside from the Ogre, the temple was quite interesting since it has a God that we don't know about. Though we're not surprised since we're just a small town." The branch master said to the sentinel.
'It might have come from the temple.' Harran thought to himself as it was the place where a Divine weapon could be found.
"Where is the location of the temple?" Harran asked seriously.
The branch master explained the location of the temple in detail as he didn't want to offend the sentinel or do anything that might cause them problems and was glad that he had read the report about the temple.
"What about the two adventurers who had killed the Ogre?" Harran asked as he was interested in them as well.
"They didn't take any quests. I believe that they are currently just resting after the battle." The branch master said to the commander.
"I see. Do you not know where they are?" Harran asked him as he calculated the info.
"Unfortunately not." The branch master said immediately.
"Tell me more about these adventurers." Harran said to the man.
The branch master obeyed and told the sentinel about the two adventurers and Harran was surprised to learn about the age and state of the two of them. Though he was impressed by the end as he understood the monumental task that the two has completed on their own.
"I see." Harran said as he realised what he had to do now.
'I can send five sentinels to check out the temple, while the rest of us can find the two and investigate them. If one of them has the divine weapon, we would definitely need the numbers. But perhaps leaving one in the town in case they come back will be good as well.' Harran thought to himself as he looked at the leaders in front of him.
"Then we will search for the adventurers and also check this temple as well. A sentinel will be stationed here and will inform us if they return, of course, if anyone saw the adventurers then they must inform him immediately." Harran said to the townspeople.
"Of course sir." The people said as they bowed slightly as he was pleased with it.
Harran nodded and then gave the orders to his sentinels, obtained the direction from the guild regarding the location of the temple and sent five of them to investigate it. Stationed one in the town to ensure that their eyes would be there as well, and also draw the attention away from their group to the lone knight.
Then he used a spell to find out the location of the divine weapon, a golden magic circle appeared on his right hand to find the divine weapon, as a thing like that isn't something that can be hidden, especially from the Church. And so, when he managed to gain the location of many people in the town and surrounding areas, he was surprised to see that all of them seen to be normal, which confused him as he wasn't able to get the energy signature that he was looking for.
'That's... odd. Is the divine weapon not in here?' Harran thought to himself in confusion.
But he wasn't about to stop now and so he combed thought the people that were outside of the town, and his attention went to a group of two adventurers, and remembered the description given to him by the guild master.
'Hmm, two adventurers, one a young man, the other a crippled woman. Yes, they are the ones that the branch master talked about.' Harran thought to himself as he noted the location and stopped the spell.
"Men. Follow me." Harran commanded calmly as he and the rest of his men marched together to find the two adventurers.
Meanwhile, Armaros and Fanah were just sitting under a fairly large tree and eating the food they have, as the place was quite relaxing and the two couldn't feel any monsters around, only the sound of nature that is constant in a forest.
The sounds of the forest were always welcome as it was usually a sign that monsters aren't near them, so they can relax slightly as they decided to enjoy the short time to relax.
Fanah enjoyed the apple she ate while Armaros ate some grape, the juicy fruits giving them much needed relief from the complicated life that they lead, a break from all the troubles, no matter how brief. It also gave them a sense of calm and peace so to speak, a feeling that they don't get when eating cooked food, they didn't know why but perhaps they enjoyed the bounties of nature in such situations that most.
Armaros liked the fruits of this world, as he also loved to eat fruits back on Earth, also helped that the fruits in this world were much tastier and juicier than what he had got to eat. He attributes it to the fact that chemicals aren't used here and the fruits are made more naturally, so they are decidedly healthier and tastier than the ones from Earth.
His mind went back to his time in the Dawnbringer clan, where he would be able to eat a variety of delicious fruits, and also remember his nanny Mary, and her gentle parenting. But he quickly pushed those away as those were thoughts he didn't need at the moment, but he nonetheless sighed softly as he couldn't help but wonder how she was doing.
'At the very least, I know that she wouldn't be alone. The clan will protect her as she is their servant, and no one would try to attack her which might offen the clan.' Armaros thought to himself as he couldn't help but smile a bit at the fact that his nanny would be safe.
Fanah who had been discreetly watching her master was intrigued at the reason for his smile, but didn't voice it out as she just wanted to enjoy the peace and quiet. Quiet moments like this are rare since they are usually busy with quests or other things. But this break was warranted due to the nature of their battle.
Of course, she was also nervous about the group that had teleported to the town sometime ago, but it seemed like her master had an idea, and so she just decided to follow it, no use thinking about such matters when she doesn't have the full picture, and her master's way of thinking is not something that she had cracked just yet.
'Well, let's see how things will go.' Fanah thought to herself as she ate her apple.
'I just hope that I will be able to hide it.' Armaros thought to himself as he felt the divine and demonic weapons inside of his body and grunted softly.
"This will be a pain." Armaros muttered softly as he popped another grape into his mouth.
