"It seems I've been ignorant of certain things," He admitted.
"But are you certain you want to unleash the full power of a Super Saiyan? Once released, there may be no one in this universe capable of stopping it."
"I am absolutely certain," Jiang Chen nodded without hesitation.
And he wasn't bluffing.
In the universe's current state, not even Goku or Vegeta might be able to resolve the crisis. For him, solving the problem wasn't difficult at all, in fact, he could even improve it further.
As for how to perfect it, he already had a clear idea in his mind.
"I understand," the Old Kaiōshin said in a deep voice. "Come with me."
His figure stepped forward, striding into the distance.
"Yes, sir!" Jiang Chen responded, quickly following.
Behind him, Son Goku and Vegeta exchanged a glance before also hurrying after. Kibito Kai brought up the rear.
The group moved toward the very heart of the Kaiō God Realm. Before long, they arrived at a structure shaped like a pyramid.
"What is this place?" Both Goku and Vegeta looked genuinely surprised.
They had been to the Kaiō God Realm countless times before, yet they had never seen such a building.
Curiosity lit their expressions.
"This is the inheritance ground of the Kaiōshin of every generation," The Old Kaiōshin explained.
"To become a true Kaiōshin, one must not only undergo the formal ritual, but also come here to face the trial. Only by completing the trial can a Kaiōshin be considered a real Kaiōshin. Becoming Kaiōshin isn't as lucky as this fellow here had it," He added with a cold snort.
Kibito Kai looked slightly embarrassed.
It was true, his ascension to Kaiōshin had been nothing short of pure luck.
Although he was called the East Kaiōshin, he and the other three Kaiōshin were in truth only apprentices, not fully fledged Kaiōshin.
To inherit the title, they would have needed years of learning, trials, and a series of rigorous steps.
And of the four, only one could ultimately become the new Kaiōshin.
But then came Majin Buu.
In one stroke, Buu had slaughtered the other three apprentice Kaiōshin, and even devoured the actual Great Kaiōshin of the time.
Yet the universe could not exist without a Kaiōshin. And so, by sheer misfortune and necessity, the East Kaiōshin became the new Supreme Kaiōshin.
Of course, these details had nothing to do with Jiang Chen, Goku, or Vegeta.
Following the Old Kaiōshin, the three soon stepped into the pyramid.
Contrary to what one might expect, the interior was not dark at all, it was brilliantly illuminated.
A soft light filled the entire structure, while strange inscriptions spread across the surrounding walls, emitting subtle, unfathomable fluctuations.
"This aura…" Jiang Chen's brow lifted in mild surprise.
For a moment, he felt the same sensation he once experienced beneath Earth's Lookout.
"Is this… the power of time?" He muttered to himself, deep in thought.
But soon he shook his head.
No, while the aura was almost identical to the power of time, it was not truly the same. In essence, the two were different.
"Could it be the power of Dragon God Zalama?"
Again, his voice dropped to a murmur as his mind turned over the possibility.
"It seems your perception is sharper than I thought," The Old Kaiōshin remarked, glancing at him.
"Lord Kaiōshin, this power… what exactly is it?" Jiang Chen's curiosity deepened as he asked the question.
"I don't exactly clear what this Power truly is either. The only thing I clear is that this Power is tied to the very stability of the entire Universe. Only by obtaining this Power can one truly be called a Kaiōshin. Of course, I didn't bring you here for that reason. Rather, here lies the origin of your Saiyan race's true Violent Power."
"Do you know why, among the Saiyan race, and even across the entire Universe, there has always been a legend that the Super Saiyan is the Universe's greatest warrior?"
The Old Kaiōshin spoke slowly, his expression tinged with emotion.
"Does it… have something to do with this?" Vegeta frowned, his voice carrying surprise.
Son Goku also focused his gaze intently.
"Yes! It's very much related!"
"In fact, in the Saiyans' distant past, there truly appeared a Super Saiyan. He was the most brutal warrior the Universe had ever seen, one who sought to wield the Energy of Destruction to annihilate everything. And he possessed the Power to do it."
"However, just as he was about to drag the entire Universe into ruin, the Kaiōshin of that era, together with the greatest Experts across the Universe, trapped him within the Kaiōshin Realm."
"And this… is where he resides."
The Old Kaiōshin's words were slow, his tone heavy with sentiment.
(Note: The legend of Planet Sadala is from Dragon Ball Super. In the original story, the Saiyans and the Tuffles coexisted peacefully on Planet Plant. Some legends say the Saiyans were outsiders, others that they were natives and the Tuffles were the alien race.)
"This…!"
Hearing the Old Kaiōshin's words, both Son Goku and Vegeta couldn't help but widen their eyes.
Son Goku even blurted out aloud, while Vegeta's reaction was no better.
Even Jiang Chen couldn't hide the shock that appeared on his face.
As a transmigrator, Jiang Chen naturally understood that the Dragon Ball storyline had been altered countless times, an inevitable fate for a long-running series.
After all, with over a decade of serialization, whether or not one could even remember all details, the plot had to evolve, and settings inevitably had to change.
Just like in Naruto, where the title of "Strongest Hokage" for Sarutobi Hiruzen was later shifted to the First Hokage, Senju Hashirama, and the Flying Thunder God Technique was retconned from being Minato's creation to originating from Senju Tobirama.
Dragon Ball was no exception.
From Dragon Ball Z, to the Dragon Ball Kai remake, to Dragon Ball GT, and then to Dragon Ball Super, the origin of the Saiyans had been rewritten countless times.
It wasn't until Dragon Ball Super that the setting finally became fixed.
And yet, even knowing all that, Jiang Chen never imagined that in this world's Kaiōshin Realm, there would be a Super Saiyan sealed away.
Moreover, from the Old Kaiōshin's words, it was clear that this Super Saiyan's power was far more terrifying than anyone had imagined.
In today's Universe, though not perfect, it is undeniably vast. Even the God of Destruction, Beerus, might not be able to destroy it entirely. Yet this one Super Saiyan… intended to do just that.
