Chapter 10 - THE HANGING GARDEN

As Kensu gazed around the cavernous space, his eyes landed on a breathtaking structure that seemed to defy gravity. A garden, once lush and verdant, now hung suspended in mid-air, its intricate network of arches and aqueducts a marvel of ancient engineering. But the plants were dead, their withered branches like skeletal fingers reaching towards the darkness.

The garden's foundation cracked and groaned, threatening to plummet into the dark abyss that yawned beneath it. Three massive chains, each as thick as a tree trunk, held the structure aloft, but four others lay snapped and useless, their broken ends dangling like severed limbs.

Kensu's heart racing, he approached the garden, his footsteps echoing off the cavernous walls. As he stared at the withered flowers, he felt an aching emptiness in his heart, a longing for a time he couldn't quite remember. It was as if he had once known a sense of peace and belonging, but it had been lost to him forever.

The feeling grew stronger, until Kensu felt like he was staring into the abyss itself, with nothing but darkness and despair staring back. He felt lost and alone, adrift in a world that seemed to have forgotten him.
