Chapter 33 - REALITY EXPOSED

After an hour of driving, the sleek black Porsche stopped in front of a five-star hotel. The driver assisted Tracy by taking out the wheelchair and carefully helping Rudra into it. Tracy then wheeled him inside. As they entered the party, both wearing elegant masks, they noticed that everyone else was also masked and dressed in vibrant outfits. The matching blue outfits Rudra and Tracy wore shimmered like two radiant bluebirds under the soft glow of the lights.

Tracy hadn't seen Rudra's suit before; she had been too focused on the fact that Prakash had promised to be at the party. Even in the midst of the crowd, she couldn't spot anyone wearing a blue suit with floral designs like Rudra's. Rudra was busy talking to financiers, finalizing deals. Tracy, as his secretary, jotted down everything dutifully before excusing herself to find a seat. She was exhausted. As she sat down, a hand holding a glass of juice appeared in front of her. She quickly gulped it down and asked for more. This time, a familiar hand offered the drink—Prakash's hand. Or so she thought. To her surprise, it was Rudra.

She hugged him, exclaiming, "I've been looking for you everywhere! This whole time, I've been stuck with that bossy Rudra, making me do all the work!"

Rudra, still posing as Prakash, smiled and said, "Are you okay? Let's get some dinner, and I'll take you home afterward." They sat down for dinner, and in a hurry, Rudra accidentally sat in his wheelchair instead of a regular chair. Tracy noticed the blue suit, and the realization hit her. It was the same suit she had gifted Prakash—the one with tulip embroidery. The perfume, too, was the same scent she had smelled in the car.

Anger surged through her, but she held it in for the moment, deciding it wasn't the right time to confront him. Rudra, sensing her anger, quickly put his mask back on and tried to distract her. Tracy, flustered, began eating rapidly, but in her haste, she choked and accidentally drank Rudra's whiskey, mistaking it for water. Rudra immediately called the driver, instructing him to take Tracy home before his true identity could be revealed.

After finalizing his deal, Rudra ordered another beer, raised a toast, and quickly wheeled himself to the car. They drove straight to the hospital as Tracy wasn't feeling well. The doctor assured him she was fine, and Rudra took her to his home for the night. The stars twinkled brightly in the sky, offering warmth and hope amidst the cold darkness. Rudra slept on the couch while Tracy, still muttering Rudra's name angrily in her sleep, rested in the bed. He couldn't help but smile at her antics before drifting off to sleep.

As morning broke, the sun rose in a brilliant display of golden hues. Tracy awoke, confused about where she was. Rudra's maid brought her coffee and informed her that Rudra had brought her home the previous night as she was too drunk to walk. After freshening up in a luxurious bathroom, Tracy began piecing together the events of the previous night. The blue suit, the whiskey, Rudra... everything started to make sense. She was livid but remained calm, knowing she couldn't risk losing her job.

As she dressed in the casual skirt and top the maid had laid out, her anger simmered. At breakfast, she barely spoke, forcing herself to eat in silence. Rudra, sensing her fury, knew he had to come clean. The truth about their past, their connection, and the greater mission that lay ahead had to be revealed. He gathered his courage and said, "You look beautiful in that outfit. How about we go on that outing I promised?"

Tracy ignored him. The maid left to run errands, leaving the two alone. Suddenly, in a swift motion, Rudra stood up from his wheelchair and pulled her close. Tracy was stunned, unsure of what would happen next. Would they finally confront their misunderstandings?
