While Deli looked to the yacht not too far from us, the horn of our own yacht blaring, she contemplated what I had just told her to do.
"It's just too dangerous."
I hoped the woman would simply do as I said, trusting that I knew what I was talking about, but that was far too hopeful of me. The captain had only just met me, and whatever rules they drilled into her in sailor school stuck. She might be willing to whore herself out, but she was firm on her sailing vows.
"We can't be sure how much momentum she has. If our estimation is off by even a margin, while she might not sink us, heavy damage would be inflicted on the White Kite."
"I'll pay for whatever damages," I said, hoping to soothe her worries.
"It's illegal. I would lose my license and face serious jail time."
