Chapter 8 - Chapter 8

Prince Zack's Office

Hera and Selene both had surprise boldly written on their faces as they both turned to look at the Prince.

Hera's mind spun. Wedding? Three days before the full moon?

She knew this was more of a trap than a proposal. He was trying to change fate, run away from his mate and force her into a marriage and most importantly, it was about power, control and ego.

"Prince Zack, that's incredibly generous, but the timing is far too sudden," Hera began, trying to inject some modesty into her refusal while praying for a moment to breathe.

He cut her off, his eyes locking onto hers with a cold, absolute intensity.

"There are no buts, Hera. You will atleast do one of the things you were brought here to do. You said it yourself, we need to prove that we have things under control. Us getting married is the only logical thing, what's an alpha without his Luna. And you are an Alpha wolf, this Union will stabilize the Pack."

"You have a mate." Hera said hoping to make the prince see why his idea was bad news.

"Hera, I'm done having this conversation. We'll finalize the details the day after tomorrow and we'll send the invitations then."

Selene, furious at being completely shut out of the decision and desperate to reclaim the Prince's attention, finally interjected.

"Zack, you can't be serious! She's barely a Pack member! I am the.."

"Enough, Selene," Zack said, his voice dropping to a final, menacing tone that had Selene shaking.

"I have rejected you as my mate and you are the only one holding on. You don't expect me to rule with an Omega as my Luna, Every other Pack will take me as a joke. The matter is settled. Hera, you are dismissed. I expect your full cooperation in planning the banquet and the wedding."

Hera rose, barely managing a quick nod. She l hurriedly left the office.

Princess Sylvia's Quarters

Hera entered into Princess Sylvia's room, locking the door behind her before leaning against it, gasping for air.

"What happened?" Sylvia asked, rushing over to her. "You look like you just saw a ghost."

"Worse," Hera replied, Your brother. He's asking me to marry him, I mean proper wedding. Next two weeks Wednesday. Three days before the full moon." Hera left the door and sat on the Couch.

Sylvia's face went white. "He can't be serious. He's trying to... to force the mating bond before you find your true mate."

"He knows exactly what he's doing," Hera replied.

"What do you plan on doing, you obviously are not going to marry him right?" Princess Sylvia asked.

"Of Course not. I don't see a way out yet, but I'm sure I'll think of something." She rested her head on the couch.

Her brain finally processed what was happening around her.

"Wait, why are you all dressed up?"

"I have a date with…., we want to discuss when we should get married and move in together, it seems you will be getting married before me." Princess Sylvia smiled.

"I hope you choke on the laugh you are trying to stifle, I seriously don't know how to get out of this. Did you say you are getting married soon?"

"Yeah, we are. It's only appropriate to, we are mates and we should be together." Princess Sylvia said.

"Your dad just died today."

"He wasn't exactly father of the year so I don't see why I should grieve him long."

"I'm sorry, you are right, that was insensitive of me."

"It's fine. I will see you in the morning and you can stay here tonight." Princess Sylvia stood up and picked her bag.

"I thought it was just a date. I'll see you tomorrow, Stay safe and let me know if anything happens."

"Yes ma'am" Princess Sylvia blew Hera a kiss and left.

The SilverBorn Pack

Helios has gotten more knowledge about the Werewolf world and he had also gotten stronger.

He was the major attraction of town, all the women wanted him but they couldn't pursue that desire because he was their promised leader and the princess was also obviously into him.

Helios was taking his bath when he got a message through the mindlinked asking him to come over to the palace for an urgent meeting.

As he strolled in, he noticed that everybody else was already seated and as usual he could feel the eyes on him. He quietly walked over to where the princess was sitting, bowed slightly and greeted her. He greeted the pristess too and he sat down beside the princess.

"I have a message from the moon goddess and it's depicts the start of our journey." She turned to Helios and smiled.

"Alpha Helios, it's time to tell you who you are and who we are, and also what our purpose of being here is."

Helios looked at the priestess confused as she explained about Demetrius and how he seeks to replace the goddess and take over the werewolf world as a god, she also told him how in a previous life he and his Luna had tried to fight Demetrius but they were betrayed by the people they trusted and they were defeated by Demetrius.

"So, you mean you guys are all brought together by the Luna to help prevent what happened before, so we can win against Demetrius?" Helios was still confused.

"Yes, we are here to make sure that you have support when facing Demetrius, he's not just any kind of demon, he's powerful and ruthless " the priestess explained.

"Now that you have gotten stronger, it's time for you to meet your mate, the veil will be lifted and we will become a regular pack, our energy will be picked up by Demetrius, but the real battle starts when you and your mate discover the isle of power."The priestess explained.

"The isle of power?" Helios asked.

"Yes, that's were the last battle was fought, there are a lot of things you need to discover there before you can be fully prepared to fight Demetrius." The priestess explained further.

" The veil will be taken off, and we wait for the next turn of event that takes us out of here."

The priestess concluded and walked out of the palace.

There was murmuring among the people,

Most of them were expressing their surprise at the Princess not being the mate of Helios.

The Princess stood up calmly and walked to her room, she was visibly angry at the fact that she wasn't Helios' mate but she also knew she couldn't change fate, so she just sat there in disappointment.
