Ophis's POV:

I gently picked up my mate and teleported us to his room, cradling him in my arms. I had been watching him for quite some time now, observing his every move, learning everything about him. He was mine.

With that thought in mind, I teleported away, appearing in front of Vali.

Vali turned to me, his silver hair catching the light. His sharp blue eyes narrowed slightly in curiosity. "Ophis?" he asked, sensing something was different.

I met his gaze calmly. "Vali, I'm leaving the Chaos Brigade," I stated, my voice steady. "I have found my mate, and I will stay with him from now on. I'm sorry."

Vali stared at me for a long moment before sighing. "I see… If that's your decision, I won't stop you."

I nodded once, then teleported back to Shiro's room, appearing beside him on his bed. Without hesitation, I laid down next to him, wrapping my arms around him and holding him close. He was warm, and the scent of him soothed me.

….

Shiro's POV:

As my consciousness slowly returned, I blinked, my vision adjusting to the dim light of my room. Had everything that happened just been a dream?

I shifted slightly, and that's when I noticed something—someone—pressed up against me. My body tensed as I turned my head, and my breath caught in my throat.

Ophis.

She was curled up beside me, holding me as if I were something precious. My heart pounded, and before I could stop myself, I jerked away in shock, scrambling backward until my back hit the wall.

Ophis stirred at my sudden movement, her expression momentarily surprised before she slowly sat up. A small smile formed on her lips as she gazed at me with an unreadable expression.

"Don't be afraid," she said softly, her voice almost melodic. "I wouldn't hurt a cutie like you, even if you weren't my mate."

My face instantly heated up. "Y-Your mate?" I stammered.

She tilted her head slightly, amusement flickering in her dark eyes. "You can feel it, can't you? It's in your blood."

She extended her hand toward me. I hesitated, but something about her presence was oddly comforting. Slowly, cautiously, I placed my hand in hers. The moment our fingers touched, a wave of warmth washed over me. It was a familiar feeling—one I had felt before, but only when I was with Koneko or Sona.

"You see?" Ophis murmured, gently tightening her grip. "You're my mate, Shiro."

I swallowed hard. "How do you know my name?"

She chuckled softly. "I've been watching you for a while now."

I deadpanned. "So, you're a yandere loli. Great."

Her lips pursed into an adorable pout, and I almost regretted my words.

"I am not a yandere," she huffed.

I raised an eyebrow. "And yet, you stalked me and didn't deny the loli part."

Her pout deepened before she suddenly reached forward and pinched my cheeks, stretching them apart.

"Hey—oww!" I whined, flailing slightly.

"Now be a good boy," she said in a playful yet firm tone.

I rubbed my sore cheeks, grumbling. "Whatever… Wait, does anyone else know about this?"

Ophis shook her head. "No."

I sighed. "Do me a favor—go tell Koneko and let Sirzechs know that you're not a threat. That way, we don't have any… misunderstandings."

Ophis tilted her head in thought before nodding. "Okay."

Without another word, she disappeared in a flash of magic.

….

I sat in the kitchen, lazily munching on a chocolate bar. The sweet taste melted on my tongue, bringing a sense of comfort.

Then, I heard the sound of hurried footsteps coming down the stairs. I barely had time to react before Koneko appeared in the doorway, her golden eyes locked onto me.

"Shiro," she started, her voice calm but firm. "Why did Ophis just say she's part of the harem?"

I sighed, rubbing the back of my head. "Well, apparently, she's my mate—according to her, at least. And considering she could probably one-shot me, I decided, for once, to keep my mouth shut."

Koneko blinked before smirking slightly. "There's a first time for everything."

I scowled. "Shut it."

Koneko crossed her arms. "Well, I approve of her."

I blinked in surprise. "That was… fast."

Before she could respond, two magic circles—one light purple and the other deep red—appeared in the room. I had a feeling I knew who they belonged to.

Sure enough, Ophis and Sirzechs materialized before us. Sirzechs looked slightly out of breath, as if the meeting had been… eventful.

"Shiro," Sirzechs said, his tone serious. "Is what she's saying true?"

I nodded. "Yep."

Sirzechs sighed, running a hand through his crimson hair. "Well… at the very least, we won't have to worry about her being a threat."

Ophis's gaze darkened slightly. "Only if you don't hurt Shiro."

Sirzechs raised his hands in mock surrender. "Duly noted. I'll inform the other factions. Sorry for the sudden intrusion."

With that, he vanished, leaving the room in silence.

I exhaled, relaxing slightly as I returned to my chocolate. Just as I was about to take another bite, Koneko's voice cut through the air.

"Shiro, how many candy bars have you eaten?"

I stiffened. Slowly, I turned my head, looking away sheepishly.

"…Only a few," I mumbled.

I felt Koneko step closer. My heartbeat quickened.

She leaned in, her voice low and teasing. "Have you been a bad boy~?"

A light blush spread across my cheeks. "N-No."

Ophis, watching the exchange, giggled. "I think he has been."

Panic shot through me. Before either of them could do anything, I jumped to my feet and bolted for my room. I slammed the door shut, pressing my back against it as I exhaled in relief.

Then, I turned around—

Only to see Ophis standing there, waiting for me with a small, knowing smile.
