Chapter 204 - 204. Disappearing Future

Right after Princess Hisui agrees to cancel their Eclipse Plan, Future Rogue's body suddenly starts to glow and slowly disappears.

It surprises everyone there, including Alex. But then he remembers what Future Lucy told her yesterday.

"If we succeed in changing the future, then the known future will disappear." Alex recalls what Future Lucy said to him.

"The known future will disappear... I see! Because the Princess stopped the Eclipse Plan, Dragons won't appear to attack us like what that future Mage told us. Then, because it doesn't happen, the future that happened to him won't exist, and because it doesn't exist, he also won't exist because the current Rogue won't become him. That's great, Princess. You've prevented a very bad future."

Arcadios is very happy when he understands what the disappearance of Future Rogue means. Even Hisui and Arcadios are really surprised by that.

"But can words really change the future that much? Of course, I really will stop the Eclipse Plan and won't use the Eclipse Gate until we really understand it. But I don't think words alone can change the future that much."

Hisui is confused, but Darton seems to already know the answer.

"You're right, Princess. Words alone don't have significant impacts, if said by normal people. However, you are not a normal person. You are the heir to Fiore Kingdom's throne. Your words alone are enough to mobilize this Kingdom. Everything you say carries a lot of weights. You can kill a person with just a word, that's how great your status as a Princess is. Because you said you won't execute the Eclipse Plan, it won't ever happen unless you change your decision."

Hisui immediately feels the heavy weights she carries on her shoulders. She carries the fates of millions of people who live in this Kingdom, but she almost kills all of them with her plan that was ironically meant to save them.

Future Rogue's disappearance really proved that this Kingdom and even the whole world would be destroyed if the Eclipse Plan was executed.

Just canceling it already changed the known bad future. That shows just how great the impact of that Eclipse Plan is to the world.

Hisui looks down and feels very guilty. She didn't think about that plan thoroughly and it almost cost the whole world's life.

Darton and Arcadios say a lot of things to cheer her up. They give her a lot of advice because they know she will grow much better through this event.

Meanwhile, Alex is looking at the spot where Future Rogue disappeared. He knows that by now, Future Lucy, Future Wendy, and Gajeel's Future Daughter have also disappeared.

But he doesn't feel sad because it means that the future they heard will not happen. Neither Lucy, Wendy, Gajeel's daughter, or anyone else will need to go through the horrible future they've heard, so this is the best he can hope for.

They are the future selves of their current selves. So their disappearance means that they won't go through the same future.

Though Alex knows that he will still feel sad seeing them disappear because it will feel like he is losing them.

Both Lucy and Wendy are already like little sisters to him and Gajeel's daughter is like his niece, so he doesn't want to see them disappear.

That's why he thinks that it's better for him to be here so he won't see them disappearing because he's sure he will cry.

Later when he returns to his Guild's lodging, he confirms that they really have disappeared. It makes everyone panic, so he needs to explain what happens to them.

Everyone feels sad that those 3 just disappeared. But they are also glad because it means the horrible future they've heard won't happen now.

"We can't be relieved just yet. Just because Dragons won't appear to destroy the world, it doesn't mean our future will always be fine. There will be other challenges and obstacles for us in the future, so we always need to prepare. If we want to keep ourselves and other people safe, we need to keep getting stronger."

Everybody agrees with Alex. The Dragons might not appear, but that doesn't mean there won't be dangerous enemies coming after them.

After everyone calms down and feels relieved that the visitors from the future are not really dead because they are the future versions of their current selves that disappear because they are saved, Alex goes for a walk.

Alex doesn't really walk though. He just lies on Meteor's back. People were freaking out when they see the big bear walking on the street before.

But now they already know that Meteor is a Fairy Tail member and a docile bear. Kids even approach Meteor to pet him so many times which helps to convince people that he's not dangerous.

Meteor wears a big collar with a big magic bell that had a Fairy Tail symbol on it. The bell won't ring unless he uses his magic power, so it doesn't disturb anyone as he walks

Anyway, Alex needs to think about a lot of things while going around with Meteor. It's mainly about how there could be the future that happened to Future Lucy and co.

All the past years, he has done a lot of things, got stronger, and tried to change the future. Yet the same future in the series still could happen.

He doesn't believe that himself from that future timeline didn't do anything to the Eclipse Gate before the Dragons came from the past.

After all, to open the Gate, they need the Zodiac Keys and Lucy has most of them. So they would take Lucy no matter the method and he's sure he won't just let Lucy go.

Yet his future version couldn't stop the Gate from opening. He knows that future was just one of many possible futures that might happen and he might succeed in closing the Gate in other possible futures.

But that means there is still a possibility of him failing. Well, he can't always succeed, but he wants to have a 100% chance of success when the consequence of his failure was that severe.

In that future timeline, there shouldn't be visitors from the future. So he should be following his initial plans. So unless something out of his plans affected his plans, the mistake should be from his plans.

That's why now he is thinking about his initial plans and trying to find their problems. He needs to reflect on them so he won't make the same mistakes.

While walking around the city thinking about that, Alex suddenly hears something from a hotel. It's still quite far and the sounds aren't really loud, but he can hear them with his sharp hearing.

Alex quickly realize that the ones talking are members of Sabertooth. He can hear that Jiemma is angry at Sabertooth members, including his daughter who lost the tournament and didn't even get into top 3.

Well, as a Guild, they are the 3rd, but because Fairy Tail has 2 teams in 1st and 2nd places, Sabertooth team became 4th after Mermaid Heel snatched the 3rd position, and this is team-bases competition, so they are counted as 4th rank.

Jiemma had already given them more chances instead of just expelling them right away after just 1 loss like in the series. But because they lost in the end, he became furious.

He even decides to expel the whole team, which includes Minerva. Of course, it shocks the whole Guild because these 5 are the best in their Guild.

If they are expelled, then Sabertooth will be weakened considerably and next year, they won't even be able to compete for the top spot.

But Jiemma believes he can gather people stronger than these 5 for next year's tournament and win it.

"Now, remove your clothes and leave!" Just like how he humiliated Yukino in the series, Jiemma wants to humiliate them. Even his daughter isn't spared because they've embarrassed him.

Everyone's eyes are shaking, but no one dares to object, except for a brown Exceed who wants to defend his best friend.

Lector tries to help Sting and even the others, but just like in the series, Jiemma doesn't even acknowledge a weak cat as his Guild's member.

He uses his magic to blast Lector and Sting fails to move right on time. But then, a blue light flashes right before the explosion happens and then everyone sees a tall humanoid cat made of blue- black fire stands a little away from Jiemma, carrying Lector on his right hand.

"Damn, when they say age doesn't equal maturity, I didn't expect it to be this bad. Even the kids I know won't behave like this. Old man, you are just a spoiled little princess in an old man's body, aren't you? Ah, sorry, it's an insult to the princess, so I'll just say you are an insecure spoiled brat. Just a little hit to your ego already made you this mad. You are not even that strong, yet you act all high and mighty. Aren't you just trying to hide your weaknesses and insecurities by blaming your members for everything they do wrong, old man?"

Alex didn't want to interfere at first, but Minerva didn't teleport Lector anywhere like in the series. She must be distraught by her father's order that also includes her.

"You are mad at them for losing the tournament and even expel them? Well, do you think you can win this tournament if you were there in the team?"

"Obviously. I never lose." Jiemma is very confident in his power.

"Ho, bold claim. Then how about you prove it? Fight me. If you defeat me, I'll ask the King to make Sabertooth the winner. Heck! I'll even be your slave for the rest of my life. But if you lose, it will be you who gets expelled from Sabertooth instead of them. How is it? Are you afraid, old brat?" Alex smirks while taunting Jiemma and of course, the short-tempered Jiemma is angry.

"Fine. If you want to be humiliated, then I'll give it to you."

Alex will finally fight Jiemma, and he is really excited by it. Teaching lessons to arrogant pricks is something he enjoys.
