Unlike most participants who try to hide from others, Cana is trying to stand out instead. She surrounds herself with flying cards that revolve around her like small shields as she walks around.
Cana also carries a bottle of alcohol, making her even easier to spot because her clones look normal. Though even without doing that, someone can already see her. Hoteye finds her with his Eye Magic and attacks her.
A pair of soil hands emerge from the ground to catch Cana's feet. But just as they're about to grab her feet, 2 magic projectiles in the form of cards suddenly strike them from above, destroying them.
Hoteye doesn't mind it and sends another attack. He shoots out stone poles from the ground around Cana to hit her. But the poles are blocked by the floating cards that won't budge.
Cana then jumps out and runs away with her cards still flying around her to protect her. Hoteye doesn't need to pursue her because he can see where she is running with his Eye Magic while staying in his hiding spot inside a building.
He can just use his Earth Magic from afar to attack Cana. Unfortunately, Cana runs too fast for his magic to chase and she quickly gets out of his range. He sighs in disappointment, but quickly moves on to a different target.
Now he is targeting Levy who hides in another building quite far from his position. But she is still within his magic's range, so he plans to attack her with another surprise attack.
Levy is hiding on the 3rd floor of a building and for Hoteye, she just makes herself an easy target. The building will trap her instead, making it harder for her to run away from his attack because of the walls around her.
Hoteye quickly makes his attack. He forms a big boulder on the first floor of the building that Levy uses to hide. The boulder is right below Levy and he shoots it upwards with a very strong power, breaking through the 2nd floor before hitting Levy on the 3rd floor.
However, the boulder doesn't hit Levy's body. It hits something very hard, a barrier made of Levy's Magic, Solid Script. She writes 6 "Absolute Barrier" that surround her on all 4 sides, above her, and beneath her.
Hoteye's boulder hits the barrier under her feet and only pushes her upwards instead. She breaks through the ceiling and is thrown out of the building. But because Hoteye's attack doesn't hit her body, he doesn't get any points.
Levy is surprised, but because she is thrown high into the sky, she can have a much better look at the city. The problem is, she also becomes very visible from all directions.
Lyon who has just been teleported after getting hit takes his chance immediately even though he is quite far. He shoots an ice hawk that flies very fast while Levy is still in the sky.
Levy sees the ice hawk coming, but she doesn't try to dodge. She quickly writes a Solid Script and activates it right before the ice hawk hits her. To Lyon's surprise, the ice hawk suddenly turns into water because Levy writes "MELT!" which is a very hot word.
Thanks to the attack, now Levy knows where Lyon is. So she writes "HOMING HOT BULLETS" which then flies as fast as bullets toward Lyon. The characters separate as they fly, turning into a bullet each that spreads to hit Lyon from different sides.
Lyon clicks his tongue and makes a big ice snake that coils around him to protect him from the bullets. The hot bullets hit his ice snake and break it, but Lyon is not hit.
While he's not hit, the hot bullets turn the ice snake into water and steam. The steam obstructs Lyon's view, making him unable to see the incoming "BIND" word that quickly hits and binds him before he can do anything.
Levy finally gets her first point and Lyon loses 2 points already. After getting this result, Levy finally has confidence to execute her plan. She moves around openly with her "ABSOLUTE BARRIER" words around her to attract attention.
Her plan is to make other participants notice and attack her. By doing so, they will expose their positions, so she can attack them back. The "ABSOLUTE BARRIER" will protect her from their attacks, so she won't lose points as long as her magic can block theirs.
This might be a bad plan for others, but Levy executes it well. After Lyon, she gets another prey, Jager who attacks her with a punch. He can't break her Solid Script barrier and get hit back instead, giving Levy another point.
Her next prey is Millianna who uses another magic whip that moves in a spiral motion called Kitten Blast. Unfortunately, it can't pierce through Levy's barrier and she also falls prey to Levy's attack after exposing her location.
The contestants keep attacking and defending, so the scoring positions keep changing. But even after quite a while has passed, Cana and Rufus still haven't made any points. Cana only runs away while defending herself while Rufus is nowhere to be found.
Currently, the lead is Hoteye with Levy in 2nd place, followed by Millianna, Lyon, Cana, Rufus, Eve, and Jager. Cana and Rufus haven't scored, but they are ranked above Eve and Jager because these 2 have negative points.
Just then, the situation changes completely. Rufus suddenly appears on top of the tallest tower in this magic city. He has found everyone's location and uses his Memory Magic to mark all of them by remembering their real bodies.
Then, just like in the series, he sends piercing light attacks toward all of them. His attacks hit them, except for Cana and Levy who use their magic to protect them from any attack
Levy writes "HOMING MISSILE" and the words suddenly fly very fast toward Rufus. He just smiles as the flying words hit him. When he gets hit, his body suddenly disappears and reappears a meter away from his original position because the one that gets hit is just his shadow created from his memory.
The "HOMING MISSILE" as it name suggests is a homing projectile. It turns around to attack Rufus because it will come at him no matter what. So Rufus shoots it to destroy it now instead of dodging.
After destroying her Solid Script, Rufus aims at Levy and tries to attack her. But to his surprise, he suddenly gets hit from behind. What hits him is a small glowing magic card that he couldn't see coming.
Actually, he can't find the one who attacks him even though he knows who it is. Rufus gets teleported to a random location after getting hit. But it's not just him who gets teleported. The other contestants, except for Levy get hit by Cana's Magic Card attack.
"Now, every single one of you is my prey." Cana grins while holding 7 cards in her right hand. On each card is a face of the contestants of this round other than her.
These cards contain the other contestants' magic signatures. She uses their magic signatures to make attacks that will find them no matter where they are. That's why in her previous attack, she could hit Rufus even though she didn't see him and he couldn't find her.
The reason Cana has her opponents' magic signatures is because she collected them from their attacks. When they attacked her, she blocked them with her cards. Their magic signatures put marks on her cards that can make her track them.
She waited patiently until she collected them all because she didn't want them to realize her method. That's why she kept running away and tried to stand out, so that they would attack her. Now it's time for her to attack after getting their magic signatures.
Her skills are really much better than in the series now. Thanks to Alex's interference in Cana's fate, she could be with her dad sooner and she also could improve her magic. Now she becomes very strong, strong enough to compete with Mira and Erza
Cana actually also sent an attack at Levy, but it was blocked by Levy's "ABSOLUTE BARRIER" Solid Scripts. Even Cana's attack that will always find its way to her target can't find a way to slip through Levy's barrier. It truly is an Absolute Barrier as long as the attacks aren't overwhelming her power.
After that, Cana becomes a true menace in this game. She keeps attacking the other contestants with her tracking cards. They managed to block some, but she kept sending them endlessly, overwhelming them quickly.
Only Levy can ignore them because her "ABSOLUTE BARRIER" Solid Scripts can stop them completely. Rufus can also handle them after a while, so he can hunt again even though he still needs to defend himself from Cana's cards.
In the end, Cana scores the highest, Rufus actually gets 2nd place, Levy 3rd, Hoteye 4th, Lyon 5th, Millianna 6th, Eve 7th, and Jager 8th. Cana really dominates this round, making Fairy Tail B ecstatic.
Even Gildarts who watches from another country is cheering happily while watching the event through a lacrima crystal ball. She really showed how to best use her intelligence and power. Cana really proves herself as one of Fairy Tail's best Mages.
