Erwig tensed as he watched the imposing figure advance among the corpses as if walking through a peaceful garden. He knew with certainty that this fight would not be easy, and he was prepared to stake his life on it.
The creature tilted its head slightly, its horns glowing a faint reddish hue as it studied him with an insulting serenity. Soon its smile returned, slow and sharp, as if it were enjoying the sensation.
"Human..." the demon murmured slowly.
Those syllables were enough.
Erwig waited no longer.
With a roar born of exhaustion and determination, he lunged forward. His sword was covered in a second by a bluish aura, the mana condensing until it sparkled, crackled, and violently enveloped the steel.
The demon opened its eyes slightly, as if this barely aroused its interest.
Then they both moved.
