Chapter 211 - Chapter 212: Time to Dig

Birka had been completely obliterated. Jack never even got the chance to see the factory workers—Enel had already turned them into ash. As for the others, who knew what kind of grudge Enel held against them? He had wiped them out long before Jack arrived.

After Enel's massive lightning attack, what remained of Birka was no bigger than a ship.

Jack thought things over and decided against killing Enel.

The system's rewards were always best when facing an opponent for the first time with full strength. Fighting Enel again now probably wouldn't yield anything worthwhile, not even his Logia fruit.

That being said, Enel had decent control over his Devil Fruit, and his Observation Haki wasn't bad either. If Kaido trained him properly, he might just become a high-ranking officer in the Beasts Pirates.

His four subordinates weren't terrible either. With the right training, they could make for decent mid-level commanders.

Just as Jack made up his mind, Enel slowly opened his eyes, dazed and disoriented.

"Ugh..."

Pain twisted Enel's face, but the moment he saw Jack, his fury burned through the agony. He glared at him and bellowed:

"You lowly mortal! How dare you harm a god!?"

"Face divine wrath!"

Smack!

A thunderous slap sent Enel reeling, blood spraying from his nose as he stared at Jack in disbelief.

Smack... Smack!

"God, huh? Mortal, huh?"

"You been reading too many cringey novels?"

Smack! Smack! Smack!

"You're just a Devil Fruit user, and you have the nerve to call yourself a god?"

"Go on! Show me this divine wrath of yours!"

After a dozen brutal slaps, Enel was finally snapped out of his delusions. He clutched his bruised face and pitifully looked up at Jack.

"But we're both gods! Why would you treat me like this?"

Jack sneered. "Who the hell do you think you are? You think you deserve the same title as me?"

Smack...

Sitting atop a massive thundercloud, Jack gazed ahead, while Enel and his battered subordinates huddled together in misery.

Despite his arrogant claims, Enel's lightning-propelled cloud was fast—almost as quick as Jack's own flight speed.

Jack stroked his chin in thought.

This little trip hadn't been a waste. Capturing a Logia user with high potential was a decent gain. With proper training, Enel could become a walking natural disaster.

Even if he couldn't match the three Admirals, he should at least be able to hold his own against a Warlord.

"Hmm?"

Jack turned to glare at the shivering Enel and barked:

"Oi! Why are we slowing down?!"

"I-I haven't eaten... I'm starving!"

"Oh, and I think I might be sick... I'm freezing..."

...

With a sigh, Jack transformed into his phoenix form, grabbed the five of them with his talons, and sped toward their destination.

Enel's pathetic endurance had truly opened Jack's eyes.

Even though he'd held back during the fight, Enel was now feverish and coughing up blood.

Damn it. A rare Logia user like him dying this easily would be such a waste!

Jack pushed himself to the limit, and just before Enel teetered on the brink of death, they finally arrived at Dressrosa.

Doflamingo, lounging by the pool with a group of women, glanced up and saw Jack descending in his full phoenix form.

"Quick! Get a doctor! Make sure this long-eared bastard survives!"

...

Once the doctor confirmed Enel wasn't in immediate danger, Jack finally relaxed.

Doflamingo, intrigued, raised an eyebrow. "Wait… Did you say this guy is a Logia user? The Rumble-Rumble Fruit?"

"The Rumble-Rumble Fruit?" Jack blinked before nodding. "Well, his lightning's loud, so yeah, probably. His body can turn into electricity."

"But his endurance is garbage. What a waste of a good fruit."

"Even worse than yours?"

...

Doflamingo glanced at Jack's massive, muscular frame, then down at his own lean, well-toned waist. He wisely chose not to argue.

Still, the Rumble-Rumble Fruit... Even among all Devil Fruits, its offensive power was one of the best.

If the Beasts Pirates trained Enel properly, his future potential would be immense.

Damn it! Why hadn't he eaten that fruit instead?!

Since Jack had lost his personal Den Den Mushi during his fight with Shanks, he had Doflamingo contact Kaido instead.

Once Kaido heard the details, his reaction was calm. But when Jack described how Enel's lightning had wiped an entire Sky Island off the map, the Emperor finally showed a hint of interest.

"Thinks he's a god?"

"Weak body? Decent fruit mastery? Some potential?"

"If his Devil Fruit control is really that good, send him to King."

"King will train him."

Jack silently mourned for Enel and his crew.

When it came to training, King was far worse than Kaido or himself. He didn't beat you up—he tortured you.

King had over a hundred different interrogation methods, all perfectly suited for breaking people.

Still, when it came to building a strong foundation, no one was better than King. Even the brutal training methods Jack had used on Teren—like full-day frog jumps and walking on his hands—were techniques he'd learned from King.

If Kaido personally assigned Enel to King, it meant he saw true potential in the guy.

Hopefully, Enel wouldn't disappoint.

The Beasts Pirates didn't raise weaklings.

...

After Enel recovered, Jack and his group boarded a merchant ship.

Enel and his men simply lacked the stamina to sustain long-distance flight. To prevent them from starving to death mid-air, Jack grudgingly chose to travel by sea.

That didn't mean he spared them any punishment along the way. Enel was pretty sure Jack had slapped half his teeth loose by the time they reached Elbaf.

Once the ship docked, Jack handed Enel over to King and immediately took off into the sky.

Enel, thinking his nightmare was over, finally let out a relieved breath.

Then King turned to him and sneered.

"So, you're the self-proclaimed Thunder God, huh?"

"Men, take him to the mines."

"???"

Enel's eyes widened in fury.

Jack bullying him was one thing, but this masked nobody dared to look down on him too?!

"You lowly mortal! You dare disrespect a god?!"

"Enel-sama, no! Stop!"

Ignoring his men's desperate cries, Enel unleashed a powerful lightning blast at King.

BOOM!

THUD!

Enel collapsed, unconscious before he even hit the ground.

King sighed, shaking his head. "Pathetic endurance."

"Chain him up with Seastone."

"Take him to the mines."
