Third Person POV
Skellige.
...
...
When they both arrived in Ard Skellige, Madara went straight to the place where they had settled since yesterday, deep within one of the island's forests.
The first thing he did was bring Totó back. The griffin appeared quite confused upon being summoned there, but as always, ready when called by Madara.
But one of the first reactions was getting a slap from Madara on his butt, so loud it echoed, before letting out a roar of protest. Madara simply ignored it and Ciri laughed at it.
The next thing he did was summon the two horses they had left on the mountain. If anyone saw them disappear, they were surely startled when the horses suddenly exploded into smoke and vanished from the stable.
With the griffin still protesting, he flew up to the tower Madara had built for him to sleep in yesterday. He stopped there, aligning himself to lie down.
Ciri, on the other hand, approached Madara, placing her hands on the Uchiha's neck.
"Let's go to the castle later and spend some time together. After all, we can't end the day without a little intimacy...", she said in a seductive tone.
Madara wondered how she was learning these things. Maybe Yennefer was teaching her, since she was getting bolder and bolder. Or maybe she was just getting used to it — women aren't fools, they naturally know how to seduce a man and what they like.
Either way, he didn't deny her, just grabbed her butt and pulled her up, placing her on his lap as she laughed and kissed him, walking with him into the wooden house without saying another word.
A few hours later, he was riding back to the castle with Ciri, leaving the animals at the entrance and finding Yennefer and Geralt talking with Crouch near the doorway.
Everyone turned as they saw them entering.
"Oh, you're here after being gone all day... Where did you two run off to?" Crouch asked.
"We went to see that giant on one of the islands," Ciri replied calmly, her hair still slightly wet — since they had to shower off the sweat on their bodies after their couple's activities.
"The giant, really? You know, they always said it was a legend, although some villages in the mountains of Undvik island offer offerings in exchange for his supposed protection. But they say he hasn't been seen in hundreds of years," Klaus said.
"Well, he's very real," said Ciri. "But he wasn't very strong. He's taller than the cyclops we fought, but Madara took him down easily," Ciri added, as the others raised their eyebrows and looked at each other, surprised by what they had just heard. Not knowing what to say, though they believed her words.
"If you're worried about an angry giant in Undvik, don't be. I took care of it. Didn't kill him, but he won't be a danger to anyone," Madara replied.
"Well... I hope so," Crouch murmured, not knowing what else to say.
"Anyway, I'm going to take care of something alone. Can you stay with them until I get back?" Madara said, turning back to Ciri.
"Yes." She simply nodded, knowing what he intended to do.
He returned silently to the room. After that, he opened a scroll and struck it with a summoning jutsu. In the next moment, a small puff of smoke exploded, and a crow with Sharingan eyes appeared.
"Take me to her," he commanded.
The crow immediately darted toward the window and flew downward. Madara took only a moment to store the scroll again and dash to the window before jumping, the wind hitting against him as he fell in free fall, following the crow flying downward as well.
The bird was diving straight into the city. Madara used no support to slow himself down, continuing in free fall with nothing to prevent him from crashing onto some houses.
It took only a few seconds to see the crow spreading its wings to glide, heading in a direction. His eyes immediately shifted into three-tomoe Sharingan and spun, forming his Mangekyō pattern.
Thus, Madara activated one of his abilities — he vanished, reappearing on one of the rooftops, softening his fall speed using his teleportation skill. He impressively jumped across the rooftop and moved forward, following the crow once more as his eyes turned dark again.
It took some time before he arrived at an inn near the port. The crow flew to a window. Madara advanced through it and landed inside a room while his bird remained at the window, doing nothing more.
Madara then looked around the room, seeing a woman's clothing on the bed. He had found who he was looking for: a woman who was in the bathtub, her gaze locked directly on him before she gave a slight smile upon seeing him.
She had a slender body, black hair, and bright red eyes. She had two fangs, but hid them quite well among other humans — Madara had only noticed when she spoke to him alone yesterday in a castle room.
"You finally came. I thought you'd make me wait all day," she said in a seductive tone, as she went back to rubbing her body.
"I had a few things to take care of," Madara replied with a completely indifferent tone, even as he looked directly at her. He ignored the fact that she was naked.
"I imagine you were with your fiancée. Pretty girl... and quite lucky," she said, beginning to stand up.
Madara didn't respond, and the woman walked through the room, grabbing a small towel as she pulled and dried her hair with it, while soaking the floor with each step. She didn't seem to have any shame, parading her naked body before him. He, however, stared only into her eyes, showing no trace of desire.
The woman before him looked young, very attractive, with ample breasts — and in a world without implants and cosmetic surgeries, large breasts were rare among slim women.
She was, therefore, a rare kind of woman. But that didn't seem to make Madara waver. His gaze never once went to her naked body, even though he had just had sex not long ago with his beloved. He wouldn't be interested in any woman other than the one he had agreed to marry.
"You don't find me attractive, Lord Uchiha?" the woman asked in the same seductive, yet now more provocative tone.
"You're beautiful, yes. But my eyes are on someone else, as you must know," Madara said calmly.
The woman pouted before giving a sad smile. "I see you're devoted to love... Seems I can't compete with a princess, can I?" she laughed. Madara didn't respond.
'Devoted to love... They say Uchihas love more deeply than anyone... So much so they're considered a cursed clan...' Madara couldn't help but think. Was he like that? He didn't remember any Uchiha in the original story—besides Obito—having that kind of sick, romantic love. Most Uchihas showed love for their brothers, parents, friends... but romantic? Only Obito.
She picked up the dress from the bed and began putting it on. She was certain no man would refuse the provocations she had been making, but Madara remained steadfast.
"We're here to talk. Are you going to keep trying to seduce me the whole time, or should I leave and come back when you're actually willing to talk without games?" Madara replied in an indifferent tone.
"Sorry about that... It's just, I may be a vampire, but I've loved before. I saw the way you looked at that princess yesterday and how you act with each other — you may seem indifferent, but you love her... I'm just a little envious, you know. I've been loved too. It's a hard feeling to come by... There's no such thing among us vampires. Or it's very rare," she began to say, looking quite sad.
"You never told me how you had your daughter. Vampires don't have children, am I wrong?" Madara asked as she finished dressing.
"No, we don't. But I was loved, before becoming a vampire. I had a daughter, as you know," she said.
"The one you're seeking revenge for?" he said, and she nodded. But something felt off. "You're saying you were once human? I don't remember reading about any human turning into a vampire..."
"The night I was infected by the vampire who attacked us, I lost my husband in front of me while I screamed with all my strength for that monster to stop sucking his blood. Then I was next, the moment I saw him lifeless, falling to the floor..."
The only thing that made me accept the inevitable death a bit more easily... was the fact that our daughter wasn't home when we were attacked." She started in a strange tone — she seemed sad.
"I saw him laughing as my last drop of blood left my body, while it cooled and fell weak... Somehow, my body should have died much earlier, but I was still staring at the ceiling of our home, conscious. I thought I was just dead, but I wasn't." She sat on the bed, recalling it.
"Something happened at that moment... As if a strange energy wrapped around me... I somehow felt my body warming up again, my blood... began returning to my body somehow... I was moving again, and the only thing I remember was crying in front of my dead husband, and somehow, I felt lighter, stronger — my body changed. I knew it then and had an immense urge to drink blood..."
Madara listened, looking somewhat surprised.
"Never heard of that." He knew there was nothing like it in Cintra or Kaer Morhen, especially the latter, being a school of hunters of dark creatures.
"I fed on the blood of some cows we had... I was lost, I didn't know what to do. Then my daughter screamed from inside the house — I knew she had arrived — and even though I could now see in the dark with much sharper senses, I was so fascinated by drinking the cows' blood on the farm that I didn't even notice her coming in..."
"I ran to her, entered the house and saw her crying over my husband's body. When I said her name, she froze and turned to me... I still remember the look of fear she had in her eyes at that moment. She tried to pull away, and I ran when she called me a monster. I fled and hid in the forest..."
"A bounty was placed on my head in the village... But the first thing I went to do... was seek revenge. I killed the vampire who infected me. I found him — he was surprised to see me, my body was younger, my eyes had turned red. The only thing that remained was my black hair, but he recognized me.
He saw his death coming, I saw the fear in his eyes... And I felt immense pleasure in dismembering him."
Madara didn't judge her as she paused while recounting her bizarre story.
"I believed, at that moment, that I was dead. But I became this dark creature, driven by vengeance. My daughter... she sold the farm and left the village, went to live somewhere else... I didn't want to leave her... but I couldn't see her either, I didn't want to be a monster in her eyes... I couldn't die and stay beside my ex-husband..."
"So I disappeared. That was my failure. Because years later, I learned she had been kidnapped. And when I found her... she was being used in experiments in a mage's hideout...
That damned mage... He tore the placenta from my baby and left her to die like some kind of animal. I told myself I would seek vengeance against that mage for years."
She continued to pour her heart out while Madara remained silent. He hadn't heard her full motivation before. Yesterday, she seemed more restrained, but now she was willing to share why she was after Vilgefortz — who, he now knew, had killed her daughter, and this unnaturally transformed vampire wanted him dead.
Despite the bizarre transformation, it clearly involved chaos, and that energy was very ambiguous — Madara couldn't expect anything logical from it. Monsters practically sprang from nowhere.
"I knew I couldn't get close to that mage — he proved stronger than me... so I spent years gathering power. Until the war broke out. But then I heard that Vilgefortz had been killed by a boy... I didn't believe it at first. So I went looking for you, Lord Madara, and for that bastard's whereabouts.
I felt that he still wasn't dead..."
"However, the second option appeared to me. A year ago, I managed to gather some information from a small sorcerer I tortured. He gave me an interesting piece of information: that Vilgefortz was here in Skellige."
"So I gave up looking for him elsewhere... and came to Skellige after the mage. I've been here for a year, using all the wealth I've acquired over the years to hunt him down and kill him. You know he has no power left — he only exerts influence through selected people, in exchange for favors and his knowledge," she said, and Madara interrupted her before she could continue.
"What do you think he's doing here in Skellige?" Madara asked.
"Six months ago, I managed to find one of his assistants. Well... I tortured him, and found out that Vilgefortz is trying to recover his power. He's searching for a very powerful artifact that has been in Skellige for thousands of years. He believes he can regain all his strength with it."
"At the same time, he's actively working behind the scenes in some activities on the continent. He may be without magical power... but he still has many people working for him."
"He's after something good, something interesting... Any idea where his hideouts might be? You're a vampire, it should be easy for you to break into one of those places," he asked.
"It should be... But when I infiltrated one of his hideouts three months ago, I was ambushed by two sorcerers. I nearly died, was severely injured. I'm still recovering from the damage. My body is active again, but I don't have the same mobility I once had. I doubt I'll recover that easily."
"I've been in hiding for a long time. However, when I heard of your presence at the castle, I used my influence and even reappeared in public to try to meet you. My name is well known here. I use the disguise of a noble merchant — I have plenty of wealth that I've built over the years... all to try to get to that bastard."
"He certainly also has many contacts and must have already been informed about you. But you know that... and you don't seem very worried," she observed, and Madara finally replied.
"Yes. In fact, that's ideal. He believes I'll be distracted, focused on the wedding, and will try to make a move. That's the best way to act. He doesn't expect me to be hunting him right now. But he knows my presence will be at the castle with Ciri — after I took out some of his lackeys on the continent, he knows I'm after him here as well," Madara said, leaning against the wall.
The woman smiled.
"Then I believe we can work together. But let me be clear: I want to avenge my daughter, even if it's the last thing I do as an undead. And you... well, he hates you more than anything, from what I've gathered. He won't stop chasing you, since you didn't finish the job in the war," she said, keeping a seductive tone as she gave a delicate smile despite her words.
"Yes, we can work together. We have until tomorrow night to find out where they've been expanding," he said.
She simply nodded, satisfied and confident with his response. "My name is Eleanor."
