Yet outwardly, her colossal dragon body continued to move exactly as it had before, her enormous head turning slowly and methodically as though she were still searching for his traces without success.
Her lake sized eyes swept across the fractured battlefield with deliberate slowness, and the infernal flames that had been pouring endlessly from her jaws began to weaken gradually, thinning into fading embers that scattered into nothingness.
Even her immense aura seemed to lose its earlier oppressive sharpness, becoming slightly unstable, as if her strength had been strained from the prolonged confrontation.
To any observer, it appeared as though she had lost his trail, or so the dark emperor believed, as he did not notice the truth hidden beneath that flawless illusion.
He did not notice that the space around Nyx had begun to compress subtly, reacting instinctively to her overwhelming control over the spatial element.
