Ethan clenched his teeth and focused his attention back on the battlefield below, and though it had seemed as though he had spaced out and lost himself in the vision of the blue scroll, in reality, everything had happened within a single fleeting instant in the flow of time.
The fight had never paused, and to the outside world, Ethan had seemed to same as before as he looked down at the figure of the earth demon who was gasping and panting heavily as he clutched his massive mace and stared downward with wide, exhausted eyes.
Both of his hands were smeared with blood, and a large portion of his torso had already turned bluish from the creeping cold poison left behind by Ethan's first icy slash.
