Chapter 5 - chapter 4{BROKEN WINGS, BURNING HEARTS}

Elsewhere, within the confines of a crumbling sanctuary, Clara—a devoted member of the church—whispered to her friend Elysia, "I feel strange."

"Of course you do," Elysia replied, a mischievous glimmer in her eye. "After all, you're standing at the doorstep of the end. He is the King of Devils, and perhaps you'll feel better once you meet him… hehe."

"But is this the right time to leave the church?" Clara hesitated.

"It's now or never, Clara," insisted Elysia. "He could leave this earth at any moment. We've waited long enough for this moment. I can feel him lurking near—let's go."

"You're right," Clara conceded, her voice trembling with uncertainty. "I must go, even though I fear the repercussions. My brother will look after me for vanishing without a proper farewell."

"Don't worry," Elysia replied with a conspiratorial smile. "He'll know the truth eventually. After all, some secrets cannot remain hidden forever."

"Perhaps you're right," Clara murmured, and together they stepped into the unknown."Allow me to lead," said Elysia with quiet determination.

Before long, they neared Lucifer, and soon fate had brought them together with the Nameless One as well. Suddenly, Lucifer's sharp gaze swept the area. "Oh, someone is near. Who might that be?" he asked.

Elysia answered promptly, "Our Royal King."

Lucifer's eyes narrowed as he regarded Elysia. "So, you are Elysia."

"As expected from the king, Knows everyone," she replied boldly.

"And why are you here?" Lucifer inquired, his tone laced with curiosity.

"We simply wish to be in your presence," Elysia explained.

Lucifer's lips curled in a half-smile. "A human wishes to meet me? How...unusual. Something tells me this is going to be an interesting encounter."

At that moment, a timid Clara stepped forward. "Your Highness, may I stay with you?" she asked, her voice soft yet filled with longing.

Lucifer looked down at her with a mix of amusement and skepticism. "Oh, little one, how do I know I can trust you? Do you think me foolish?"

"No, of course not," Clara insisted earnestly. "Tell me what I must do."

Lucifer chuckled darkly. "Dear child, you may not join us so easily. However, you may accompany this friend here—he has no name, so we call him the Nameless One. Consider it a trial."

"Thank you, my lord," Clara whispered gratefully.

"But know this," Lucifer warned in a low, menacing tone, "why would you even consider joining us?" Clara replied "A personal wish, I might not appear powerful or useful at first, but my abilities are unique" .

"But you know what will happen if you even consider betraying us, don't you? If you're aware of that, you might regret this moment for the rest of your life." Lucifer said."Of course, I understand," Clara replied solemnly.

"Very well," Lucifer declared. "My work here is done. Farewell, little one. I shall take Helious with me."

"Wait—" Clara began, but her words were swallowed by the inevitable as Lucifer vanished back to Hell with Helious in tow.

Turning to the Nameless One, Elysia said brightly, "We should get to know him better, since he'll be with us for a while. Let's say hello!"

The Nameless One regarded her coolly. "What do you want from me?"

"We're here to help, of course," Elysia replied with a slight smile.

"Nothing," he responded curtly.

Clara sighed, "He does seem difficult to communicate with."

Elysia only stared off into the distance, the unanswered tension lingering as the night deepened around them.

Thunder shattered the silence as the sky bellowed its fury, and a commanding voice echoed: "You may have cheated death once, but I won't let mercy strike twice. I am Lizzy, Blade of the High Throne—Leader of Heaven's Army, Arch-Angel of Winds. I do not come with mercy… I come with the weight of a thousand wings and the will of eternity."

In terror, Clara ducked behind the nameless one, but Lizzy surged forward regardless. With brutal precision, the nameless seized Lizzy's head and slammed it into the unforgiving ground, his tone icy as he proclaimed, "Don't touch her."

He dragged her roughly over the scorched earth, and with a savage blow, sent Lizzy crashing to the ground—a blow that birthed a creator. In return, Lizzy unleashed her wind powers with lethal grace, Trying to kill Clara. The Nameless One wrapped Clara in a firm embrace. As the winds howled around them, he dropped to one knee, grounding himself with a clenched hand against the earth. After a heavy pause, he spoke : "Are you okay?"

Clara, even in her fragile state clinging to him, managed a quiet reply, "I'm fine… are you hurt?" The nameless one answered curtly, "No," only to be met by Lizzy's strained inquiry, "What are you!"

A searing rage flared in his eyes as he roared, "After killing my Father!? After killing my Mother!? After destroying my land!? After ruining my life!? How dare you ask who I am after turning me into NOTHING!" His fury unleashed in a vicious punch that sent Lizzy hurtling through the air. Coughing up blood, she gasped, "The wind no longer sings my triumph, but it still carries me home. This battle is lost… yet the skies have not closed their eyes."

As Lizzy scrambled to flee, the nameless one raised his hand to end her, but Clara's desperate cry halted him: "Don't be like them." With that, she vanished into the sky. Weary and pained, the nameless one sank beside her, seeking a moment's rest against the backdrop of a battle-worn earth.

Deep in the infernal depths of hell, Lucifer was hurling Helius against the cold stone walls and kicking him to wake him up. Finally, Lucifer sighed, "Hey, you low-life Imp, go get the nameless one."

The Imp, Arnold by name, obeyed and crept toward the gate of hell before making his way to the earth realm. After a long, silent trek he encountered the nameless one and Clara. Clearing his throat, Arnold announced, "Hi, I'm Arnold, looking for the nameless one."

Clara and the nameless one exchanged wary glances before Clara coyly replied, "Take a guess." Caught off guard, Arnold stuttered, "Uhh, give me one moment," and scurried back to hell. Moments later, he returned to Lucifer, his voice quivering as he asked, "Umm, sir, who's the nameless one—the girl or the weird, corrupted man?"

Lucifer's eyes flashed with malicious amusement. "Oh, I wonder who," he taunted. After a pause, Arnold whispered, "So, the girl?" Enraged, Lucifer roared, "Fuck this—I'm doing it myself."

Lucifer descended upon the earth realm, and without further questioning, led them back to the abyss of hell. There, the nameless one seized Helius and slammed him against the wall until he finally stirred. "What the hell—?" Helius gasped as his senses returned, only to be struck again. "Yon fuckin' broke my nose," he moaned. "Oh, I didn't notice," the nameless one replied coldly, delivering another punishing blow to ensure Helius's nose was thoroughly shattered. "Now, what was that for?" Helius demanded between pained grunts.

Clara surveyed the chaos with a wry incredulity. "So this is hell? In the literal sense… it's more alive than I thought." Lucifer's voice, tinged with dry humor, interjected, "We got a bad reputation."

"Oh…" Clara murmured, barely audible.

With an unsettling charm, Lucifer extended his hand. "Name's Lucifer Morningstar," he intoned.

"Nice to meet you, Mr. Morningstar," Clara replied.

"Let's get you to your new home, Clara," Lucifer said, guiding her towards his castle.

When they finally reached Lucifer's Castle, the massive gate swung open to reveal a servant who announced, "Welcome, Lucifer and other riff-raff."

"What did you say? Repeat that, Beelzebub!" Lucifer demanded.

"Nothing, my lord," came the meek reply.

"That's what I thought," Lucifer muttered as they proceeded into the grand dining hall. The nameless one seated himself while a bewildered Clara, still reeling from the day's events, sat beside him.

Soon Arnold reappeared bearing a tray laden with food. However, as he neared Clara, his clumsiness betrayed him—a sudden misstep sent plates and food crashing to the floor.

"Arnold, you idiot," Lucifer snapped.

"It's fine," Clara offered softly, trying to downplay the mess.

Arnold hurried back with a fresh plate and presented it to her. "Thank you," she said gratefully.

The nameless one fumbled with a knife and fork. Sensing his difficulty, Lucifer interjected, "Miss Clara, please help this idiot if you don't mind."

"Oh, okay, uhm, let me help you," Clara answered hesitantly. She placed her hand over his, gently guiding his to grasp the fork correctly. For a brief, absurd moment, the nameless one consumed both the fork and its morsel simultaneously. Clara's eyes widened in shock, Helius shook his head in annoyance, and Lucifer's raucous laughter filled the hall, accompanied by Beelzebub's mischievous giggles.
