Chapter 365: Destruction
Hearing Tang San's sudden question about the Three-Eyed Golden Lion, Xiao Wu looked puzzled. "Third Brother, why are you asking about the Three-Eyed Golden Lion all of a sudden?"
Tang San's expression was calm, but his gaze had a crafty gleam. "I recently overheard Di Tian and Bear Lord mention something about the Three-Eyed Golden Lion. You've spent a lot of time in the Star Dou Forest, so you should know what kind of soul beast it is."
After some hesitation, Xiao Wu explained, "The Three-Eyed Golden Lion, also known as the Emperor Auspicious Beast, is the Star Dou Forest's guardian spirit. Known as the 'Healer of Soul Beasts,' it has a unique aura that accelerates the growth of any soul beast nearby, allowing them to heal rapidly from injuries and even break through limitations."
"In short, any soul beast close to the Three-Eyed Golden Lion can more easily surpass milestones, breaking into ten-thousand-year or even hundred-thousand-year ranks. It's crucial to the Star Dou Forest's vitality. Legend has it that once the Three-Eyed Golden Lion reaches ten thousand years, it will possess the power of a hundred-thousand-year soul beast."
A glint of shrewdness appeared in Tang San's eyes. "So, the Three-Eyed Golden Lion is incredibly important to the Star Dou Forest?"
"Absolutely. Even the most wicked soul beasts wouldn't dare harm it. There are usually hundred-thousand-year soul beasts around it for protection. Whatever you do, don't even think about harming it, or you'll be turning the entire Star Dou Forest into your enemy." Xiao Wu's face showed concern as she looked at Tang San.
Tang San, however, burst out laughing—a twisted, dark laugh. "Xiao Wu, we finally have a chance to avenge ourselves. It seems Bibi Dong has captured the Three-Eyed Golden Lion. This will inevitably lead to a war between the Star Dou Forest and the Wuhun Empire. That's when we'll seize our chance to cut down our enemies."
As he laughed maniacally, a transformation began at his brow. A sinister black tiger mark formed—this was the Dark Devilgod Tiger. It roared from his brow, and Tang San's mind felt a sudden upheaval. His vision swirled, and he found himself in a strange, dark space.
He stood in a massive black hall, filled with an aura of foreboding. In the center of the hall, a towering column of light held a dark figure within it. The figure's eyes shone with a mysterious glow, his entire presence exuding an air of impenetrable mystery.
The figure's deep voice filled the hall. "Tang San, I am the Evil God King, the highest authority in the Divine Realm."
Tang San, familiar with the process of godhood from his Sea God trials, was overjoyed and immediately bowed respectfully. "This junior, Tang San, greets the Evil God King."
The Evil God King nodded. "Tang San, I have seen your extraordinary talent and potential. You possess the Dark Devilgod Tiger Pearl, which holds a fragment of my divine power. Are you willing to serve me?"
Tang San was taken aback. He had initially thought the Evil God King was offering him a divine inheritance, yet here he was, asking for his allegiance. Given Tang San's pride and independence, how could he be willing to become anyone's servant?
However, what Tang San needed most now was a powerful patron—someone who could make him stronger than both Yang Potian and Bibi Dong. He gritted his teeth. "Lord Evil God King, if I serve you, will I be able to avenge my parents?"
The Evil God King scoffed. "Revenge? Such a trivial matter. Become my servant, and you'll easily settle such grievances. But if you lack the strength to become the most powerful being on Douluo, then you don't deserve to serve me."
Tang San immediately understood the vastness of the Evil God King's power. Before him, Bibi Dong and Yang Potian were likely no more than insects.
"I, Tang San, pledge myself to you, Lord Evil God King. I'll pay any price to achieve my revenge."
The Evil God King nodded approvingly. "A wise choice. But to truly become my servant, you must pass a godly trial. I grant you the position of Destruction God. Complete the trial, become the Destruction God, and then you'll be worthy to serve me."
"Remember this: I am the Evil God King, the incarnation of all that is evil. To serve me, you must release your innermost primal power."
As the Evil God King spoke, a dark ray of energy descended upon Tang San's brow, seeping into him with an aura of pure malevolence—far more intense than anything in the Slaughter City. It was a horrifying power, chilling and absolute.
After an unknown length of time, Tang San's mind slowly began to clear. A surge of black energy now rested within his consciousness, surrounded by golden inscriptions. Gazing at the golden text, he felt a rush of excitement. The Destruction God was even more powerful than he had imagined, and the trial ahead was staggeringly challenging—more demanding than the Sea God's.
This test was not a matter of endurance or achievement but required boundless strength, courage, and intellect. If the Sea God's trial cultivated a true successor, the Destruction God's trial demanded absolute destructive capability, the power to obliterate all.
Recalling his Dark Blue Silver Grass and Clear Sky Hammer, he realized that while the hammer was raw power, his Dark Blue Silver Grass was more insidious, lending itself perfectly to destruction and darkness, a force impossible to guard against.
Hearing Xiao Wu's voice calling him back to his senses, he rose, his face filled with dark exhilaration, and let out a piercing, blackened howl.
In the heart of Lake of Life, Di Tian, protector of the Dragon God, sensed the shift in Tang San's aura and realized that a god had chosen him as its heir. He felt a surge of anticipation. The soul beasts' plans were coming to fruition—Tang San, the "son of soul beasts," had finally been granted a divine inheritance. As long as he ascended, the revival of the soul beast clan was within reach.
At that moment, Yang Potian, sensing the changes around him, felt a strange familiarity. With a derisive snort, he continued his journey deeper into the ocean.
Elsewhere, in a small pocket dimension on the Sun Moon Continent, lay a vast graveyard of dragon skeletons. In the center lay a colossal silver dragon, her massive form stretching as far as the eye could see. Surrounded by dragon energy, her wounds slowly began to heal. Sensing the shift in the world, her immense dragon eyes opened, glowing like twin stars.
(Author's note: A minor inconsistency has been corrected here. Destruction God is, in fact, under the Evil God King's domain, as seen with the Dark Devilgod Pearl in other works. Hope readers aren't confused by this adjustment!)
