Max met him with his sword.
Their figures blurred across the arena. Westora's attacks were direct, overbearing, and heavy as falling stars, while Max's sword was sharp, precise, and laced with the invisible killing intent of the Emotion Severing Path. Every clash sent ripples through the arena, and every near miss carved deep gouges into the stone floor.
Max quickly realized that Westora was far stronger than he had expected. This wasn't someone he could overwhelm with one or two trump cards.
Every time Dragonheart came close, Westora twisted away by the narrowest margin, and every time Max's severing intent tried to smother him, the Three Origin Sovereign State suppressed part of its influence and let him keep pushing forward.
After several more rapid exchanges, Max's eyes narrowed further.
