"These seven will form the backbone of our operation," Max said. "They will lead seven squads. Each of you will be assigned to one of those squads based on your strengths, affinities, and teamwork potential."
He paused for a moment to let the structure sink in. It was necessary. Nullaria was demon territory. There was no room for individual heroism.
"You will not act alone," Max said, his tone firm. "Let me make that absolutely clear. You will move as squads. You will fight as squads. You will survive as squads. If even one of you breaks formation or disobeys your squad leader, the entire group may face consequences."
The geniuses nodded, some swallowing nervously, others clenching their fists in excitement.
