Aden leaned forward with barely restrained urgency. "What way?" he asked. The tension in his voice was shared by nearly everyone at the table. They had searched, calculated, hunted, and theorized for months, yet not a single trace of a demon stronghold had been found on Acaris.
Demons appeared, attacked, vanished, and reappeared elsewhere as if they slipped between the seams of reality. Now Max was saying he had a method to reach them. No wonder every pair of eyes burned with expectation.
Max did not rush. He let the silence settle before he spoke, his tone calm and steady. "I don't know if all of you are aware, but the demons are not hiding anywhere in Acaris. Their true base is inside a secret domain. A domain that belongs to the Nulls and Ascendants." His voice carried quietly through the chamber. "Because of this, no matter how thoroughly you search this world, you will never find them."
