The Creator Woman stared up at me from where she was pinned, golden blood still dripping from the corners of her mouth and the deep cuts across her body.
Her mismatched eyes sparkled with the same wild excitement that matched the smile on my face.
For a long moment, neither of us moved.
Then she laughed.
"PwahahahahHAHAAHGH!"
Soft at first, then louder, the sound echoing through the endless void.
"You're smiling like a complete maniac," she said, her voice still a little hoarse from the intensity of the fight.
"I like that look on you, Luntheris. It suits you far better than that cold, serious expression you usually wear."
"We should take a break," she said suddenly, her tone turning almost casual.
"This fight is going to take a very long time. You know that as well as I do."
I raised an eyebrow, still keeping the tips of my swords against her throat and heart.
"Explain."
She smiled, that same sadistic yet playful curve of her painted-black lips.
