Sam's eyes gleamed with sharp focus as the pressure between them built.
The flame swirling in his open palm wasn't finished forming, but it was close.
He could feel it, this one would matter later.
Across the platform, Asmodeus stood like a god of fire and fury, black wings spread, heat distorting the space around him.
His clawed hand stayed pointed straight at Sam, his expression a picture of mockery.
"Well," Asmodeus grinned, rows of sharp teeth exposed as his crimson eyes pierced through the air, "I always used the same tactic when Primordials wandered into my domain."
He chuckled lowly, as if it amused him to explain it at all.
